About this file

This is a bidders' conference Q&A document from the Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District regarding boiler replacements at Williams Intermediate School in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. The project involves the replacement of existing HB Smith boilers, with boiler #4 definitely being replaced and boiler #3 potentially being replaced if budget allows. The district prefers Smith boilers but will consider replacements with prior authorization. A mandatory site walkthrough occurred on November 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM, with bid proposals due December 1, 2025, at 10:00 AM, and bid award scheduled for December 5, 2025. The project completion deadline is December 31, 2025. Attendees included district facilities staff and representatives from multiple contracting companies including Davison Co., Aalanco Service Corp., General Air, Cam HVAC, Guardian, NRG, George T. Wilkinson, Enterprise Equipment, and Finbarr Mechanical.

Key operational details addressed during the walkthrough include that boilers currently run in series at different times as needed, outside loading dock access is through double doors at the back of the boiler room, and dumpster placement is allowed near the loading dock entrance. The district will supply glycol onsite, and the awarded vendor must provide empty totes for used glycol disposal. Electrical panels are located in the room to the left of the boilers, and emergency power-off switches exist in the electrical room. Building access is available any day of the week except December 25, 2025, and January 1, 2026, with weekend access requiring prior approval from the Director of Facilities. Johnson Controls serves as the building management contractor. The sign-in sheet from the walkthrough would be uploaded to Commbuys as an amendment document.
