About this file
This is a Register of Wage Determinations under the Service Contract Act issued by the U.S. Department of Labor Employment Standards Administration Wage and Hour Division for Iowa counties (Dallas, Guthrie, Madison, Polk, and Warren). The document establishes prevailing wage rates and fringe benefits required for federal service contracts awarded in this geographic area.
The wage determination (No. 2015-4979, Revision 28, effective 5/13/2026) provides hourly rates for over 200 occupation classifications spanning administrative, automotive, food service, furniture maintenance, general services, health, information and arts, information technology, instructional, laundry, machine tool operation, materials handling, mechanics and maintenance, personal needs, plant operations, protective services, recreation, stevedoring, and technical occupations. Rates range from $13.14 to $49.52 per hour depending on occupation and experience level. All listed occupations receive fringe benefits including health and welfare ($5.55 per hour or $222 per week), and vacation/holiday pay provisions. Special pay differentials apply to air traffic controllers, weather observers, and hazardous materials handlers at 4% or 8% above base rates. The determination requires uniform allowances be provided at no cost to employees or reimbursed, with a standard maintenance rate of $1.35 per week where applicable. Executive Orders 13786 and 13658 regarding paid sick leave for federal contractors also apply to contracts subject to this wage determination.
