About this file
This file contains answers to Requests for Quotation (RFQ) questions regarding a postage meter and mailing system lease solicitation for the Alaska Army National Guard (AKARNG). The government clarifies that it currently manages postage across multiple accounts and locations, including dedicated stamps.com accounts for Fort Greely, Wasilla, and Fairbanks, plus The Armory account, with infrastructure in place to track and report spending by account. Regarding the "weighing mail" requirement, the government confirms it refers to a connected 70-pound scale rather than an inline dynamic weighing platform, as the manual connected scale solution meets current operational needs and volume. The government also specifies that only USPS shipping capabilities are required under this contract scope; other carrier services such as FedEx and UPS are currently handled externally by the USPFO warehouse and are not needed within this procurement.

Text version
The following responses are provided for clarification purposes. In the event of a conflict between these responses and the formal solicitation documents, the solicitation documents shall take precedence.
Do you manage postage spending by accounts/departments and if so, how many?
Yes, we currently manage postage across multiple accounts and locations. This includes dedicated stamps.com accounts for our Fort Greely, Wasilla, and Fairbanks locations. Additionally, we manage The Armory account and have the infrastructure in place to tract and report spending by account as required.
You mention “Weighing mail” as an item. Mailing systems are connected to a scale to weigh mail (as indicated by your listing of a 70lb scale) but can also include an inline dynamic weighing platform that weighs and measures each piece as it travels through the mailing machine. By “weighing mail”, are referring to the connected scale or are you referring to an inline device?
Our requirement for ‘weighing mail’ refers to a connected scale (specifically the 70lb scale mentioned in our requirements.) We are not requesting an inline dynamic weighing platform currently; the manual connected scale solution meets our current operational needs and volume.
Aside from USPS shipping, is other carrier shipping (FedEX, UPS) needed?
Currently, only USPS shipping capabilities are required for this contract. Other carrier services, such as FedEx and UPS, are currently handled externally by the USPFO warehouse and additional carrier integrations are not needed within this scope of work.
