Questions and Answers

1) The spec calls out a drop ceiling to accommodate the HVAC duct work. This can done without having a drop ceiling which is costly. Can you please clarify if a drop ceiling is required?

We do not believe that the drop ceiling is required as long as the facility can be cooled. Most trailers vent from under the trailer to distribute HVAC. Thus, the dropped ceiling is not a requirement.

2) Please provide pictures of quoted trailers.

3) The solicitation does not have any drawings for the buildings. Can you please provide drawings?

4) Which wind zone do you want the building constructed to?

WIND LOADS PER UFC 3-301-01 TABLE F-1

5) Do you require sealed plans to certify the wind zone and construction details?

NO.

6) Will a statement from the manufacturer certifying the wind zone be allowed?

YES.

6) Currently, the solicitation indicates that delivery is 30 days after award. Can the Government, consider extending the delivery time to 80 days after award? Time is needed for construction and transport of the units to NAS Jacksonville?

Yes, the delivery date will be 90 days after award.

7) Are ISO containers of 40 feet and 20 feet acceptable for the containers structure?

Are ISO containers 12 feet wide? So, No

8) If we were to build a container with 2 x 12m containers joined on the long side, then the size would be 15,74’ (width) x 39,37 (length), would these measurements be acceptable to the Government?

No.
