About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) excerpt from a federal contract solicitation addressing pack size requirements for spice products.

The Q&A clarifies the government's position on vendor submissions with pack sizes that differ from the stated requirements. When a vendor cannot provide the exact pack size specified—such as 16 oz Ground Cinnamon instead of the requested 22 oz, 16 oz Ground Nutmeg instead of 22 oz, or 19 oz Onion Powder instead of 22 oz—the quoted quantity must still meet or exceed the total amount requested. The government's response indicates that vendors must provide multiple containers of the smaller pack size to satisfy the requirement; for example, two 16 oz containers would be necessary to meet the intent of a 22 oz requirement. This requirement ensures that the total weight or volume delivered matches the solicitation's specifications regardless of individual container sizes offered by the vendor.
