About this file
This document is a Questions file for the AHEC Dust Collection solicitation (W91QF025QA015) issued by the Department of the Army Materiel Command Mission and Installation Contracting Command at Fort Eustis. The questions focus on technical specifications and project requirements for a dust collection system installation, specifically seeking clarification on engineered drawings, drawing scope, engineering certifications, existing building layouts, duct line configurations, and water source connections for a suppression/extinguishment system.
The vendor is seeking detailed guidance on multiple technical aspects, including: the extent of required drawings (electrical, PI&D, pneumatic system, or physical placement), whether engineering stamps are necessary, access to existing "as-built" drawings for Fab Shop building 952, recommendations for clean-out access doors and blast gates on duct lines, and identification of the closest water source for the suppression system. The solicitation appears to involve a complex installation project at the Army Heritage Education Center (AHEC), with a site visit previously conducted at Ridgeway Hall, located at 950 Soldiers Drive.

Text version
1. The solicitation and scope mentions that the Vendor must supply if applicable “Engineered drawings including as built drawings upon completion”.
0. What is the scope of those drawings? Do they include electrical drawings, PI&D drawings of the water lines of the extinguishment system, and pneumatic system? Or just drawings of the physical placement of the collector, pad, and duct lines?
0. Do the drawings have to be stamped by a registered engineer or are uncertified basic concept drawings acceptable?
1. Are we able to receive the current “As built” drawings of the Fab Shop building 952 to assist with layout and planning?
1. On the to be installed duct lines would you like clean-out access doors and blast gates on the equipment take-offs installed for maintenance and balancing purposes?
2. If so for the clean-out doors please advise approximately how many you would like or maximum distance the duct should travel before needing to have another clean-out.
1. Can you please advise location on the closest accessible water source we will be able to tap into in order to support the required suppression/extinguishment system?
