About this file
This amendment modifies a solicitation for environmental services at a Former Nike Battery and Disaster Training Village site in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is seeking proposals for an in-situ thermal remediation effort to reduce contamination from chlorinated volatile organic compounds in the source area and downgradient groundwater plume. Offerors must provide equipment and materials to complete a seed task order for pre-remediation design and execution of in-situ thermal remediation within the source area to a depth of 100 feet below ground surface. The solicitation is set aside for small businesses with a NAICS code of 562910 and size standard of 750 employees. Questions were answered to clarify documentation requirements, schedule adjustments, site visit details, and page limits for technical approaches.

2. Since the project schedule is anticipated to be several ledger-sized pages long can the schedule be omitted from the page count limit for the technical approach?
Response: No, the project schedule cannot be omitted from the page count. Please refer to page 63 of the solicitation.
3. To allow for time to revise our proposal based on the questions and answers, we would like to request a two-week extension from the date the final answers to questions are received.
Response: The due date is not anticipated to be adjusted at this time.
4. Regarding the Site Visit on May 17, does the client need to know who is attending? Also, is there a limit to the number of attendees a company may bring to the site visit?
Response: No, attendee identification prior to the site visit is not required. There is no limit to the number of attendees a company may bring to the site visit.
5. Will the government allow offerors to submit figures and graphics using foldout 11” x 17” pages? If so, will each 11” x 17” page count as one or two pages?
Response: Yes, the use of 11”x17” pages are allowed. Page 63 of the solicitation states required page setup parameters is 8.5”x11”, therefore the use of 11x17” page counts as two pages.
6. Reference PWS for the Seed Task Order, and the last sentence on Adobe PDF – please confirm that the word “be” is a typo that should be deleted, so that the phrase states, “…the treatment zone will extend no deeper than 100 feet below ground surface (bgs)….”
Response: Correct. The word “be” in the referenced sentence (pg 8 of Seed TO PWS) is a typo and should be removed. The sentence should read “…the treatment zone will extend no deeper…”
