About this file
This amendment modifies the solicitation for the Construction of a Raymark Stormwater Pumping Station project. The amendment provides responses to five questions from potential offerors. It confirms that a water treatment plant is required to treat suspended solids and have flexibility to treat impacted water if needed. It also confirms that pump requirements can be found in the specifications and drawings but manufacturer names will not be specified. Additionally, it clarifies that price escalation will not be allowed and that the bid opening date and call-in information remain the same as the original solicitation.

AMENDMENT 0006
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS:
Question #1: Amendment #5, Question #28 asked for confirmation that a water treatment plant is required for this project. The Government Response states that a water treatment plans shall be provided per Section 02 24
50. Section 02 24 50, Paragraph 1.1 states: “This specification is intended to address construction water treatment during Contract related work activities. This work is not expected to generate impacted water during work activities with the exception of suspended solid (SS), but the Contractor shall have equipment and personnel prepared to manage and treat impacted construction water as needed.” Providing an onsite water treatment plant will add cost and scope to the project that most likely will be unnecessary. Can this scope be addressed as a change of condition during construction, in the event it is required, similar to how potential impacted soils are to be handled?
Government Response 1: This work is not expected to generate impacted water during work activities except for suspended solids. The Water Treatment Plant shall treat suspended solids at a minimum and have the flexibility to be upgraded to treat potentially impacted water collected during construction activities.
Question #2: Amendment #5, Question #16 requested information on the basis of design for each pump type. Can you please confirm the following?
a. Basis of design for pumps specified in Section 22 13 29
b. Basis of design for pumps specified in Section 35 45 01
Government Response 2: Requirements for the pumps can be found on Sheet D-003, Section 22 13 29, and Section 35 45 01. Manufacturer names will not be specified by the Government.
Question #3: In consideration of current volatile market conditions and that these conditions may deteriorate further in the 60+ days following bid submission, would the Government include an escalation clause in this solicitation?
Government Response 3: The Government will not include a price escalation clause for this project.
Question #4: Can you please clarify the date and time of the bid opening?
Government Response 4: Offers are due by 01:00 PM EST on 11-Mar-2022. The bid opening will begin at 02:00 PM EST on 11-Mar-2022.
Question# 5: Is the call-in information provided in the original RFP for the bid opening still correct?
Government Response 5: The original call-in number is the same.
