About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for Solicitation Number W912SV26QA004, issued by the Department of the Army National Guard. The Q&A provides insights into the scope of a consumable parts and inventory management service for military facilities. The solicitation involves servicing ten total facilities (eight ground maintenance and two aviation maintenance) with varying warehouse sizes ranging from 6,400 sqft with 4 bays to 93,000 sqft with 35 bays.

The contract requires a vendor capable of comprehensive inventory management, including assessing facility-specific needs, tracking consumable parts, and restocking varied inventories such as nuts, bolts, washers, and electrical fuses. The complexity of the contract is highlighted by the need for site visits to each facility, with bench stock typically distributed across shop floors and shelving areas. Service technicians must demonstrate mechanical aptitude and extensive knowledge of inventory management, consumption rate projection, and supplying a diverse range of consumable parts across multiple maintenance facilities.

Q & A Document

W912SV26QA004

Updated: 29DEC2025

Q: Can you please give me an idea of the amount of inventory you go through on an annual basis as well as the size of each facilities consumables warehouse area?

A: We have ten total facilities in the state that will need to be serviced. These include eight for ground maintenance and two for aviation maintenance. The size of these range from 6,400 sqft with 4 bays at the smallest, up to 93,000 sqft with 35 bays at the largest.

Bench stock is not necessarily stored in a single location in each facility. Many of them have shelving spread throughout and on the shop floor itself. Again, site visits will be necessary to each facility for the vendor to get an accurate picture of what each one needs.

As for the annual consumption, this varies widely for each facility. Due to the nature of bench stock and the difficulties of tracking the individual items, the vendor will need to be able to assess the needs of each facility and work with the respective supervisors to restock as needed. Some shops will go through thousands of certain types of nuts, bolts, and washers, while others may go through a large number of electrical fuses. It really depends and will necessitate site visits and analysis from the vendor.
