About this file

This document is a detailed specification section (Section 26 20 00) for Interior Distribution System electrical work. The specification covers the technical requirements for electrical distribution system components, including conduits, wiring, cables, panels, switches, receptacles, and grounding equipment for a federal construction project at Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois.

Key technical requirements include using copper conductors with specific insulation types, color coding standards, and performance specifications for electrical components. The specification mandates that all materials must be listed by Underwriters Laboratories (UL), comply with National Electrical Code (NFPA 70), and meet specific standards for installation, testing, and quality control. The document provides comprehensive guidelines for selecting, installing, and testing electrical distribution system equipment, with detailed requirements for conductor types, wire management, grounding methods, and equipment installation practices. Specific attention is given to safety, reliability, and proper electrical system configuration to ensure optimal performance and compliance with federal electrical standards.
