About this file
This document appears to be a set of questions and answers (Q&A) related to a federal contract solicitation involving welding services and coverall requirements. The Q&A addresses four key points: (1) the number of coveralls requested for base and optional years (15 pairs per welder), (2) pricing discrepancies between the Statement of Work (SOW) and price schedule regarding the number of welders (3 vs. 4), (3) the purpose of replacement coverall quantities (for ruined or lost items), and (4) a CLIN (Contract Line Item Number) numbering issue for optional years. The government representative indicates that the SOW will be updated via amendment, and the correct CLIN schedule is included in the solicitation. The laundering services should be priced for 4 welders, with other contract line items covering the initial setup for an additional welder and potential replacements.

Text version
1. You are asking for 15 pairs of coveralls per welder. Why do you have 45 coveralls for base year, but 15 for the optional years?
There’s only 3 Welders on staff currently and we may or may not hire a 4 th within a year.
2. SOW says to price for 4 welders, but the price schedule has only 3 welders. Isn’t it easier to just assume 4th welder will be hired?
The laundering services should be priced for (4) Welders and the other CLINs will cover the initial setup for (1) additional Welder and the replacements, if needed.
3. What is the purpose of replacement coverall quantity? Is it in case items get ruined or lost?
Yes, just in case.
4. Optional years CLIN should be 1001, etc. but it is 0001, etc.
The SOW will be updated via amendment 1. The correct CLIN schedule is included in the solicitation.
