SUMMARY OF CHANGES

(End of Summary of Changes)

The following items are applicable to this modification:

AMENDMENT 0002

Solicitation No. W912P825B0036 Flood Control, Amite River Tributaries, Louisiana, Comite River Basin, Comite River Diversion Project, Bayou Baton Rouge Rock Chute East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana Amendment 0002

Follow-up Questions/Clarifications:

1. The answer to Question 8 clarified the payment lines for the excavation of the channels are to the bottom of the riprap/stone. It appears that the bid qtys in CLINs 0028, 0029, and 0030 equate to excavation qtys to the top of the riprap section and are therefore less than the theoretical qty. Please confirm the qtys in these CLINs.

USACE Response: Excavation quantities for CLIN 0028, 0029, and 0030 are measured to the required cut line/subgrade below the required bedding and riprap layers (with a tolerance of 0 to -0.5 feet).

2. Referencing question and answer 36 from Addendum No.1, what is the estimated quantity of R25 Stone that will be removed from the Comite Diversion Channel excavation?

USACE Response: The estimated quantity for removal and stockpile is 2,080 TONS.

3. Referencing question and answer 36 from Addendum No.1, where on the site will this material be stockpiled?

USACE Response: The stockpile(s) can be placed within the ROW limits shown on the drawings. The Contractor shall select a stockpile location that does not impede construction activity. Final location to be coordinated with the Contracting Officer.

4. For clarification, is the rip rap to be included in the Cubic yard price for Grout Riprap CLIN 41? (Question 56)

W912P825B0036

USACE Response: ****CORRECTION FROM AMENDMENT 0001****. All Riprap shall be paid for under CLIN 0065, 0066, 0067, 0068 and 0069. The cubic yardage quantity shown for the grouted riprap (CLIN 0041) is for the amount of grout placed only. This response supersedes previous response for Q&A #45 within Amendment 0001.

5. Can the rip rap be placed before the deck of the bridge is installed? (Question 49)

USACE Response: Riprap placement and sequencing shall be included within the Contractors means and methods.

6. Is a compaction test required for the backfilling of proposed banks and abandoned channels? If so, will an uncompacted lift be allowed to get above the moisture line?

(Question 48)

USACE Response: Compaction testing of the fill placement is not required.

7. How much flow and or water is expected when removing the dams from the neighboring jobs? (Question 19)

USACE Response: The estimated flow into the channel, after removal of the East Plug, will be subject to site conditions at the time of removal. The future anticipated flow rate is unknown at this time. Furthermore, removal of the East Plug shall be completed as part of the last Phase of construction.
