Section 00010 of the solicitation lists the requirements of a complete bid package. Please confirm that items “(b) Section 00010 Line Items-” and “(c)
Section 00010 Bid Schedule breakown” are in fact the same document listing the 11 bid items and that only one rendition of this document is necessary.
8/31/2017
44 8/30/2017 The Finish Schedule (page A-602) calls out for entry mats at 101 Corridor.
Please provide a size and location. 8/31/2017
45 8/30/2017
Page A-602 also notes CPT-1 through CPT-3. On the Room Finish Schedule, there is only a “CPT” designation. Please clarify which type of carpet will be required in each room with the “CPT” call out. 8/31/2017
46 8/30/2017 Per page C-031, hydroseed will be required to be installed. Will this hydroseed need to be removed at the conclusion of this project? 8/31/2017
47 8/30/2017
Note 3/C-031 and section A-A/C-031 call out for wick drains.
* What is the depth of these drains?
* Will a specification for the wick drains be provided?
* Will a geotechnical report be provided to provide further soils information (soil types) to the wick drain installers?
8/31/2017
48 8/30/2017 Page C-101 notes to “see architectural” for the trash enclosures. However, there is not anything shown on the architectural plans for these enclosures. 8/31/2017
49 8/30/2017
Will aggregate base be required per detail 5/C-501 under all building footings, or will this detail only apply to the perimeter footings of the building. 8/31/2017
50 8/30/2017 Please provide a detail for the truncated domes and the ADA ramps shown on page C-101. 8/31/2017
51 8/30/2017
On page C-101, ABI 0008 and ABI 009 are called out to be the addition of concrete paving in lieu of gravel surfacing. However, the specifications list
ABI 0008 as related to the storm infiltration basin. The ABI 0009 description discusses the upgrade of landscape areas. Please clarify. 8/31/2017
52 8/30/2017
Will the addition of this concrete be included in the base bid, or should the addition of this concrete be included in the covered parking RFI’s (ABI 0010 and ABI 0011)? 8/31/2017
53 8/30/2017 Page C-101 calls out for ABI 0006 to be the addition of asphalt paving in lieu of gravel surfacing. However, in the specifications, ABI 0006 is described as the change of manual gates to automated gates. Please clarify. 8/31/2017
54 8/30/2017 Will the carport structures being added in ABI 0010 and ABI 0011 require painting? Will these carport structures require fire sprinklers? 8/31/2017
55 8/30/2017
Will an enlarged plan for the trash enclosures be provided? Will there be any curbs, construction joints, etc. at these locations?
* Please confirm that no lime treatment of the soils will be required under any of the site sidewalks noted in detail 1/C-501. 8/31/2017
56 8/30/2017 Will dowels and caulking be required at all construction joints per details on
C-503? Page C-101 simply identifies the jointing as “typical.” 8/31/2017
57 8/30/2017
Specification sections 07 42 63 and 13 34 19 do not call out a description for MP-2 or MP-3. Will these panels be required on this project? If so, please provide a description. 8/31/2017
58 8/30/2017
Page S-151 calls out for metal deck over the administrative areas from grid lines 12-8. However, there is not metal deck called out to go on top of the
PEMB purlins per pages S-151 or S-152. Are there insulated metal panels above the PEMB purlins? 8/31/2017
59 8/30/2017 If so, detail 3/A-512 seems to call out for metal deck with rigid insulation at these locations. Please clarify. 8/31/2017
60 8/30/2017
Would it be acceptable to provide 4” insulated metal panels in lieu of metal deck and rigid insulation? The insulated metal panel would provide a higher R value and have a thinner profile. 8/31/2017
61 8/30/2017 With regard to specification section 41 22 13.14 – Bridge Cranes: 8/31/2017
62 8/30/2017
Paragraph 2.1 – top running crane section references CMAA #70 which applies to double girder cranes. Since the crane on this project is a single girder crane, should CMAA #70 be changed to CMAA #74 everywhere in the specifications? 8/31/2017
63 8/30/2017
Paragraph 2.3.1.3 (Micro-Drives) notes adjustable frequency controls which are required per paragraph 2.4.2. Micro speed control can be achieved with adjustable frequency controls. It is not required to have a separate micro-drive consisting of a motor, gear, and clutch for hoist, trolley, and bridge. It seems redundant to have the micro-drive and the adjustable frequency controls. It would be more cost effective to remove the micro-drives. Is this acceptable? 8/31/2017
64 8/30/2017
Page S-5551, view 9 (section at crane rail support) does not provide an elevation dimension of the lowest obstruction shown by the dotted lines.
The minimum clearance between the highest point on the crane and the lowest obstruction should be 3” as required by the CMAA specification.
Please provide a dimension. 8/31/2017
65 8/30/2017
Paragraph 2.3.11 specifies that the stop and hold is to be 131.25%.
However, OSHA does not permit overloading the hoist beyond 125%.
Drawing 05-Q101, ID#PV7 UE-04 specified a 5 ton capacity crane. Should a
7.5 ton hoist de-rated to a 5 ton be furnished to satisfy paragraph 2.3.11? 8/31/2017
66 8/30/2017 Would it be acceptable to change the wording in paragraph 2.3.11 to limit the stop and hold to 125% while controlling the decent of 131.25% load? 8/31/2017
67 8/30/2017 Paragraph 2.1.2 notes a speed of 120 FPM. This seems like it is too fast for a 25’ span crane. Is it acceptable to reduce the speed to a safer 80 FPM? 8/31/2017
68 8/30/2017
Drawing 05-Q101, ID#PV7 UE-02 notes a 7 ton bridge crane. There is no specification provided for this underhung crane. Specification section 41 22
13.14 is for a top riding crane and does not apply to the underhung crane.
Will there be another specification issued for the 7 ton underhung crane? 8/31/2017
69 8/30/2017 With regard to specification section 41 22 23.19 – Monorail Hoists,: 8/31/2017
70 8/30/2017 Page S-242, views 2 and 3 does not detail how the monorail beam (3.403) must be attached to the roof structures. 8/31/2017
71 8/30/2017
In addition, keynote 3.403 on page S-242 states, “Bottom of steel elevation is 125’6”.” Is this elevation the bottom of the monorail beam or the bottom of the roof support steel? 8/31/2017
72 8/30/2017
The drawings indicate hook limits for the 7 ton crane. However, the drawings do not illustrate the location of the 7 ton crane nor do they show the location of its runways. Will a drawing be issued showing the location of the 7 ton crane and runways? In addition, will a hook height be provided? 8/31/2017
73 8/30/2017
In order to deliver bridge crane materials, a 60’ stretch trailer will be needed for delivery. Please confirm that there will not be an access barricades that will obstruct a delivery truck from accessing the project site.
8/31/2017
74 8/30/2017
This is to suggest you push the bid back a week for the Moffett project. We are calling subcontractors trying to get some interest in the project, but since it is bidding the day after Labor Day no one is willing to look at it. This is going to lead to less competition which leads to higher pricing.
It would be in the best interest of the project to push it back a week to allow the interested parties adequate time to finalize their proposals.
8/31/2017
75 8/30/2017 Can the AISC shop and Field certification requirement noted in the structural steel specs be waived? 8/31/2017
8/31/2017
We are really interested in the Moffett project that ANG has out right now.
It looks like there are some pre bid RFI questions that need to be answered and it bids on Tuesday after the holiday weekend. This is not to your advantage in getting good pricing bidding the day after a holiday. Can you inquire as to whether the bid is going to be pushed? 8/31/2017 8/31/2017 8/31/2017
BID OPENING HAS BEEN EXTENDED AND
CHANGED TO CHANGED TO September 11, 2017, 1:00 PST, SEE AMENDED SF1442
77 8/31/2017 Please provide the bridge crane monorail support centers.
8/31/2017
On sheet PV2 03-A100, it shows (2) 5 ton cranes. Should this read 3 ton cranes (capacity)? Keynote 3 on sheet PV2 03 S-105 and PV203-S106 both note a 3 ton capacity crane.
8/31/2017
Sheet PV2 03-Q101 states, “Four (4) total crane assemblies rated at three
(3) ton. Two (2) cranes per bridge assembly.” Should this read, “Four (4) total hoist assemblies rated at thee (3) ton. Two (2) hoists per bridge assembly”?
8/31/2017
For Units 1, 2, 3, and 4(PV#2), the (4) 3 ton TRSG cranes (with two 3 ton hoists per 3 ton crane), will the (4) 3 ton bridge cranes run back-to-back on the same runway? *Will the cranes have hook separation?
* What is the runway capacity?
* Is the runway rated for all the cranes to operate back-to-back or with
(one) crane bay separation?
8/31/2017
I saw your information on the Builder’s Exchange. I may be interested in bidding hauling services for construction debris hauling. I could not determine if this is part of the bid? Do you need boxes?
What size? Frequency per month?
How many months is the job?
Types of material going in the box?
When does job start?
