About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for federal contract W912L826QA017 concerning a fiber optic installation project.

The document addresses two key inquiries regarding the fiber optic installation. The first question pertains to the distance of the fiber run, and the answer provides detailed routing information: the conduit extends approximately 180 feet from OPS Room 1220 to a manhole near the southeast corner of the OPS building, continues 313 feet west to a hand hole near Sapper Lane, turns south for approximately 270 feet to a hand hole adjacent to building 204, and finally turns east for 252 feet to enter Annex 242B. The total length of the run is approximately 1,015 feet, with the contractor responsible for verifying all measurements. The second question concerns the acceptability of gel-free fiber optic cable as an alternative to gel-filled cable. The government's response establishes a firm requirement that only gel-filled fiber cables will be accepted, eliminating any alternative material options for contractors bidding on this project.
