About this file

This is a Salient Characteristics document establishing minimum mandatory specifications for a G4 44,000-pound forklift solicitation (W912JM26QA019) issued by the Department of the Army Georgia Army National Guard.

The forklift must meet the following minimum requirements: a rated lift capacity of 44,000 pounds at a 48-inch load center with safe operation capability on unimproved motor pool surfaces including gravel, dirt, and wet concrete. The equipment must include a 2-stage mast assembly with a minimum 19-foot reach to support 3-high stacking of ISO shipping containers and 96-inch long forks mounted on a roller carriage. The carriage must feature hydraulically operated independent side-shift and fork-positioning controls operable from the operator's cab. Tires must be puncture-resistant foam-filled pneumatic or resilient solid tires to prevent mission-critical failures; standard air-filled pneumatic tires are unacceptable. The operator environment requires a fully enclosed steel cab with electronic climate control (heater and air conditioning), an integrated backup camera with in-cab display monitor, and an elevated engine air intake with pre-cleaner to reduce dust ingestion. Joystick controls are preferred. The contractor must supply operator and preventative maintenance training as part of the delivery. The solicitation had an extended offerer due date of August 24, 2026, at 7:00 a.m. EDT.
