Contractor shall conduct an intensive field survey of all existing conditions. The contractor should survey existing conditions and correlate their work requirements accordingly.
C. Comply with the Selfridge General Specifications.
D. Provide a submittal which shall include all the colors and materials for the project to allow for the overall color/material scheme to be reviewed. Colors and materials are to match existing.
E. Building will be occupied during construction. Provide all materials and labor to ensure that the interior of Hangar 7 is protected from damage.
F. Provide final restoration and clean up. All generated refuse and debris shall be legally disposed of off base.
G. There is to be a coordination meeting with the occupants before construction starts.
H. Contractor shall provide a full set of red lined drawings.
I. Contractor shall provide a one year warranty on workmanship of the entire construction project in addition to the manufacturer’s warranty and a one year warranty on all installed parts.

K. Operation and Maintenance Manuals shall be provided, to include (but not limited to) spare parts list, operator’s manual, and contractors’ contact information. Include 2 binders to contain all the information/warranties and one electronic copy.
L. Record drawings may be provided to the contractor as a courtesy at the discretion of the Government, but their accuracy is not guaranteed. The contractor shall do his own field investigations of the utilities and other items in the area and base his work accordingly.
The Government assumes no responsibility for any conclusions or interpretations made by the Contractor based on the information made available by the Government. Nor does the Government assume responsibility for any understanding reached or representation made concerning conditions which can affect the work by any of its officers or agents before the contract. These record drawings bear no such representation or understanding.
M. Scheduling and Phasing: The contractor should submit to the Contracting Officer a coordinated schedule indicating the sequence of operations for demolition work for review prior to commencement of the work. Scheduling should allow for coordination for work in adjacent occupied spaces, and comply with all applicable rules and regulations. The schedule should also include coordination for shutoff, capping, and continuation of utility services, as well as details for dust and noise control protection. The schedule should include phasing for each of the area of work.
N. Life Safety
a. When demolition occurs in or near an occupied space, measures must be taken to protect the indoor air quality, reduce noise, limit vibration from cutting or chopping, reduce odors emanating from demolition debris, and mitigate dust infiltration from airborne particles and foot traffic.
b. Use water mist, temporary enclosures, and other suitable methods to limit dust and dirt rising and scattering in the air. Do not use water when it may damage existing construction or create hazardous or objectionable conditions such as ice, flooding, and pollution. Remove decayed, vermin-infested, or otherwise dangerous or unsuitable materials, and promptly dispose of them off-site. Maintain adequate ventilation when using cutting torches.
c. Avoid unsightly conditions by cleaning adjacent structures and architectural finishes. Eliminate tractable dirt by wet-mopping floors and wiping down walls and doors of the demolition enclosure. Vacuum carpeted areas on a daily basis.
Provide walk-off mats from the area of work to prevent dust from being tracked onto adjacent floor finishes. Do not use public corridors, lobbies, or hallways as staging areas. Damage to adjacent construction during demolition must be repaired and restored immediately by the contractor.
d. Provide barricades
e. Locate, identify, disconnect, and seal or cap off indicated utilities serving the areas to be selectively demolished. Do not interrupt existing utilities serving occupied or operating facilities unless authorized in writing by the owner and building management. Arrange to shut off indicated utilities with respective providers.
Provide temporary services during interruptions to existing utilities, as acceptable to the owner and to authorities having jurisdiction. Provide at least 72 hours’ notice to the owner if a shutdown of service is required during the changeover.
Maintain services indicated to remain and protect them against damage during demolition
f. The contractor should cover and protect all slab-hung equipment, diffusers, and registers to remain, and return air stubs before demolition is to commence.

g. The Contractor shall maintain the construction site in as clean and orderly condition as possible. All refuse and/or salvage material shall be gathered and disposed of periodically to maintain the site in this condition.
h. Since the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) does not provide a minimum concentration criteria for lead in paint and recognizes that all paint contains at least a trace of lead, all painted materials should be identified as potentially lead-containing paint (LCP). . OSHA requires precautions and protection for workers and the working environment at any work place where an exposure to airborne metal (lead) may occur. While there is no abatement of paint planned, the contactor should be aware of the LCP during the construction activities, so that proper safety worker procedures can be planned and performed.
The contractor shall be responsible to perform work according to all applicable federal, state and local worker safety and health regulations.
2. The following options shall be used in lieu of the options listed in the General Specifications:
