BLDG. 859 DDC RFI’S

W912JB-18-B-5001

1. Does all control wiring need to be run in conduit?

Yes, all exposed conductors subject to physical damage (Wire that can be damaged during normal access) or in open ceiling vehicle bay/ mechanical room. All exposed low voltage wire such as runs down mechanical room walls, across air handlers, etc. shall be in conduit.

2. Is the "virtual-lan" already in place?

YES

3. Does the DDC system need to interface with the building Fire detection/alarm and security systems?

No

4. SOW item #3 list equipment not currently under DDC control. His equipment would include (5) unit heaters, (2) cabinet unit heaters and the infa-red heaters in the apparatus bay. Please verify if the project will require that DDC packages be added to this equipment. They are currently being controlled by line voltage thermostats.

Yes, IAW SOW #3 design requirements

5. SOW items #6, 7 and 13 reference Automated Logic’s LAN Gate Router (LGR-250).

Note that this equipment has been replaced with a OptiFlex C5RE Router.

Note taken on existing equipment, Follow SOW for contractors interface with existing router.

6. SOW item #6 and 9 reference smart utility meters (installed under a separate contract).

The SOW states a requirement to monitor these devices. We did not see these devices at the walk through or on the as-built documents. Please clarify if this monitoring will be required and if so who will be providing and installing these utility meters.

The LAN Gate Router was installed as part of the metering project and we monitor electric, gas and water usage. It is located in the electrical room adjacent to the mechanical room. This will

NOT need to be replaced.

7. Based on SOW #10 (HVAC Emergency Shutdown Push-button). Based on the BMS as-built documents and our on-site walkthrough the existing system did not appear to have this control in place. Please confirm this as a requirement to the project.

Yes, IAW with SOW #10, Safety

8. SOW item #16 states no government furnished equipment or materials. Please verify who will be responsible for the I/P drop to the BMS router.

It is already existing and functional.

9. SOW item #20 states that the “Period of Performance” is 120 days. The

W912JB18B5001 document item # 52.211-10 states “completion of work-180 days”.

Please clarify.

Period of Performance is to be 120 calendar days. An Amendment to the solicitation will be issued to correct the performance period.
