28 13 00.00 22, 2.2 (f.) and Section 08 71 00

The specification in 2.2 (f.) calls for providing electric door locks and power supplies as specified in Section 08 71 00 Door Hardware. Section 08 71 00;

however, does not have any specifications or information for electric door locks and power supplies. Please provide the necessary information on electric door locks and power supplies.

See revised specification section 08 71 00 paragraph 3.6 for Hardware index sets.

7063815 2

27 41 00, 1.3.3 & 1.4.2 The referenced specification alludes to maintenance of equipment in 1.3.3 and requires service calls in 1.4.2. Please clarify whether or not the contractor is to include costs for maintenance of equipment after installation and if so for what period of time and under what conditions.

Refer to specification section 27 41 00, paragraph 1.4 for maintenance requirements. Bid as advertised. Refer to paragraph 1.4.1 for period of time.

7063820 3

28 31 76, 1.7.1.6 Under this specification the requirement is for the manufacturer's representative to be an employee of the manufacturer with a minimum certification of NICET III in fire alarm systems. Will the government allow a manufacturer's representative who is not an employee of the manufacturer yet is certified by the manufacturer and has NICET III in fire alarm systems? The number of manufacturer employees with the required training and NICET III certification is extremely scarce and limits options of manufacturer while also increasing cost substantially.

Bid as advertised.

7063824 4

FA101 The note states that the text signs shall be powered by the fire alarm system. Will the government allow text signs that are powered from the 120VAC circuit feeding the exit sign in the vicinity as is usually executed? The activation and control would still originate with the fire alarm and mass notification system.

Conduct work in accordance with drawings and specifications. Bid as advertised.

Refer to revised drawings M‐102F.

5 ‐ No Revision Required/Clarification Only ‐ The project does not have fire barriers that would require dampers (2 hour rated). Smoke dampers are shown in the duct between each of the Comm/Data rooms and the corridor since that is considered a non‐ducted system in a smoke partition. These are indicated on Sheets M‐101B, M‐101C, M‐ 101D, M‐102C, and M‐102D. Additionally a schedule is provided on M‐ 605 (bottom of the Control Damper Schedule).

6 ‐ No Revision Required/Clarification Only ‐ The Radon Mitigation drawings that are referenced from the electrical drawings and Specification Section 31 21 13 are part of the Plumbing package. See drawings P‐103, P‐104 and P‐105.

7 ‐ Revision Required ‐ The basis of design for the scrap collector is a packaged unit that includes shut off valves, solenoid valves, and backflow preventer; it does not require a PRV. We have removed the detail from the plumbing drawings. See revised drawing P‐501.

The consideration of conjusted reinforcements in the waffle slab, there are standard (2)D13 as S1 reinf. And (2)D19 as additional shearhead top reinf. And (2)D19 as joist top reinf. And (1)D13 for stirrup and (2)D13 for extra bars around openings. Even some of reinf can lay in same level, the minimum concrete cover of 20mm for slab and 38mm for joists are quite difficult to keep. So, please advise adequate slab thickness.

See revised Concrete Joist Schedule on S‐606 that changes the bottom reinforcing in J10 and J17 to provide 2 layers of reinforcing instead of 1 layer. This will provide adequate bar spacing for concrete placement in these joists.

The waffle slab thickness of 150 is adequate for bar placement.

Reinforcing bars at the top of joist, additional shearhead top reinforcing and slab reinforcing shall be placed in the same layer as indicated.

Longitudinal reinforcing in the waffle slab shall be placed in the following order to minimize congestion as indicated in detail C7/S‐606:

1st: North‐South Bottom Bars (joist and shearhead bottom reinforcement in same layer)

2nd: East‐West Bottom Bars (joist and shearhead bottom reinforcement in same layer)

3rd: East‐West Top Bars and North‐South Slab Bars (joist and shearhead top reinforcement and slab reinforcement in same layer)

4th: North‐South Top Bars and North‐South Slab Bars (joist and shearhead top reinforcement and slab reinforcement in same layer)
