PROJNET RESPONSES TO QUESTIONS
The following questions were proposed in ProjNet, however, the Government was not able to respond in the ProjNet System:
1. Is there any additional civil work associated with canopy add alternate #10 and 13.
Response-All asphalt, curbing, concrete flatwork would be the same with or without canopy. All site work shall be completed with or without the canopies in alternates ten and thirteen. This shall include all drainage, grading, concrete, or asphalt paving exclusive of the canopy structures.
2. Are we to assume all water for project (domestic or fire) will be either included in add alternate #7 or #11 Response- No. There are building connections that do not have any relevance to the two listed alternates.
3. On add Alt #2, can the "water tower" line be shut down for a short period (a couple of hours) to "cut-in" the 8 '' connections on either end? Versus inserting 2 valves on the live line. I understand that we have to install the new line and get it ready for connection and even install two tapping sleeves and valves for new lines, but this won't isolate line to be demoed.
Response-The utility profile does not require tapping sleeves and valves. The “tower loop” may be shut down for a short period with approval of the COR only during the weekend period to provide for the end connections. The contractor shall be allowed to use tapping sleeves and valves if requested.
4. Can you provide more info requirements for the "altitude" valve that is called out on CU103 and CU503.
Response-Contractor shall provide for this work as shown on the referenced drawings. See sheets CU502 and CU503 for details concerning the altitude valve and vault.
5. Can you RFI if the duct bank is already in place? There is evidence of new paving and grassing on site.
Response-Amendment has been issued concerning bid items that includes this item.
6. Panel MDP references an Advanced Meter. The referenced spec section is 25 10 10 but does not appear in the specs provided or on the One Line or schedules. Please advise if you can get this spec section.
Response-The contractor shall install the advanced meter panel as shown on the one line drawing on drawing sheet EP601. This panel shall meet the requirements as provided in specification section 26 24 16.
7. The site demolition plan (ES101) calls for an existing power duct bank to be intercepted and rerouted around the building pad (note below from ES101). However this is not shown on the new site plan (ES102). This needs to be addressed in an addendum along with the existing duct bank that is Bid item 5.
Response- The work associated with this is shown on drawing ES102 keynote 26.46.
8. Need to confirm wood doors species. Plain Sliced White Birch for example. Finish is clear in the specification so we are good with that.
Response- See drawing sheet AF601 Interior Material Type Legend, mark DWD-01.
9. For the doors in acoustical partitions are we to obtain an STC35 rating on our openings?
Respone- Refer to specification section 08 14 00 2.2 F.
10. Sheet CS101 shows the project laydown area where the Fisher House is going. Is there going to be an alternate site available for use? If so, where?
Response-Laydown area is as specified on the drawings.
11. Sheet SS001 includes multiple notes about AISC certification. Note 2.4 states that relevant experience can be submitted for the fabricator in lieu of the AISC requirement? Please confirm that is correct. If so, can the same relevant experience be used to satisfy the erector not being AISC certified. This will provide significant savings to the government Response- Fabricator can use relevant experience in lieu of the AISC requirement. The erector CANNOT use relevant experience in lieu of the AISC requirement. The erector must also demonstrate relevant experience.
12. Is the 6’ sidewalk on the north side of Parking Lot A part of Bid Item #2?
Response- No. It is included in the base bid.
13. Is the steam piping shown required as part of this project or was / is part of Project 544-19-101?
Response-The steam piping shown is part of this project.
