About this file

This document is a set of Questions and Answers related to a Request for Quotations (RFQ) for the procurement of custom hydraulic cylinder assemblies. The RFQ, Solicitation Number W912EP25Q0002, is issued by the Jacksonville District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside.

The RFQ seeks to purchase four (4) new hydraulic cylinders, including one (1) 10-inch bore cylinder with a 75-inch stroke, and three (3) 14-inch bore cylinders with 105-inch, 64.5-inch, and 122.4-inch strokes, all with trunnion/tie rod style mounting. The cylinders must be delivered within 160 days of contract award to the South Florida Operations Office in Clewiston, Florida. The award will be made to the quoter whose offer provides the best value to the government using the Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) methodology. Relevant details in the Questions and Answers indicate that the cylinders must have chrome-plated trunnion pins for corrosion resistance, and a welded mill-duty design is not acceptable.

New Build Custom Hydraulic Cylinder Assemblies

Question/Answers

1) Can the cylinders be a welded mill duty design (not tie rod) as long as they will still fit in the same envelope & retain the trunnion mounting?

1) Answer: No. Tie Rod mounts which enables the ability for future rebuild to extend components life cycle.

2) Are the chromed trunnion pins a requirement?

2) Answer: Yes. Chrome required on trunnions as a corrosion resistant coating for those surface that require movement between assembly components.
