QUESTION AND ANSWERS
RFQ W912EP25Q0002 New Hydraulic Cylinders
Question: is the stroke count supposed to be 75" for one out of three 122.4" for another and 64.5" for another cylinder? because i found some but they are 14" stroke just checking to see if those are typos and that is referring to the 14" stroke that you want and need, or if you needed the other size.
Answers:
(Qty 1 Each) 10” Bore, 4.500 Rod and 75” working stroke maintaining the 3’10 1/4” dimension from the centerline of the trunnion diameters (3.998/4.000) to the centerline of the clevis inside diameters (4.004/4.002) in the fully retracted position per attached drawing requirements.
(Qty 1 Each) 14” Bore, 5.500 Rod and 64 1/2” working stroke maintaining the 4’1 3/4” dimension from the centerline of the trunnion diameters (5.0 +0.0/-.002) to the centerline of the clevis inside diameters (5.010 +.002/-0.0) in the fully retracted position per attached drawing requirements.
(Qty 1 Each) 14” Bore, 7.000 Rod and 122.4” working stroke maintaining the 66” dimension from the centerline of the trunnion diameters (5.0 +0.0/-.002) to the centerline of the clevis inside diameters (5.010 +.002/-0.0) in the fully retracted position per attached drawing requirements.
(Qty 1 Each) 14” Bore, 7.000 Rod and 105” working stroke maintaining the 3’10 3/4” dimension from the centerline of the trunnion diameters (5.0 +0.0/-.002) to the centerline of the clevis inside diameters (5.010 +.002/-0.0) in the fully retracted position per attached drawing requirements.
Question: Can the cylinders be a welded mill duty design (not tie rod) as long as they will still fit in the same envelope & retain the trunnion mounting?
Answer:
No. Tie Rod mounts which enables the ability for future rebuild to extend components life cycle.
Question: Are the chromed trunnion pins a requirement?
Answer: Yes. Chrome required on trunnions as a corrosion resistant coating for those surface that require movement between assembly components.
REVISED DOS
DESCRIPTION OF SUPPLIES (Revised) (Qty 1) 10” Bore Trunnion/Tie Rod Style Hydraulic Cylinder with 75” Stroke Including
(Qty 1) Clevis End.
(Qty 3) 14” Bore Trunnion/Tie Rod Style Hydraulic Cylinders with 105”, 64.5” & 122.4” Stroke Including
(Qty 3) Clevis Ends General Specifications: Qty (4) - manufacture complete per the attached drawings, must meet all current ANSI, ASTM, ASME & ISO specifications & standards related to Hydraulic Cylinders manufacturing.
5. Each unit to be fully assembled to the Hydraulic Industry Manufacturing Standards. Protect all exposed machined surfaces that are susceptible to corrosion with the proper preservative if they’re not painted.
6. Each Unit shall include the Clevis end and Hydraulic Cylinder Trunnion with Tie rods fully mounted. A multi tie rod configuration in the designated locations as called out on the drawing is acceptable and to be determined by the manufacturer IAW Hydraulic Cylinder manufacturing industry standards.

Special considerations for proper prime and paint selection: exposure to extreme weather conditions, the units are covered but outdoors and regularly exposed to excessive heat, humidity, moisture, dust, and occasionally drastic temperature fluctuations. A minimum of one quart of Touch-up paint to be provided per Hydraulic Cylinder unit assembly.
10. Provide detailed electronic blueprint drawings for entire assembly to include every component internal and external, configuration of seals, seal kit number. Internal Piston configuration to be Multi-seal/Multi wear band style. Assembly and detail drawings to be approved by COR prior to manufacture of each unit.
