About this file
This document is a response to questions from potential offerors regarding a federal contract opportunity for Natural Resource and Cultural Resource Project Support at the Yakima Training Center (YTC).
The key details are: The contract will require a wide variety of wildlife, natural resources, and archaeological tasks to allow the government to develop effective management and protection strategies in areas affected by military activity. The government cannot waive the requirement for personnel to have master's degrees in certain positions, such as archaeologists, biologists, environmental scientists, and historians. There are no plans to extend the solicitation due date. Contractors will typically work around recreational users, including hunters, and the ranges will not be closed unless requested through the government point of contact. The anticipated contract will consist of a base year and two 12-month option years, with task orders expected to range from $50,000 to $900,000.

QUESTIONS FROM 9/3/2024
QUESTION: Can the requirement for the personnel to have Masters Degrees be waived at all? Or can we substitute years of experience?

QUESTION: Will the government be extending the due date for this opportunity? If so, can you please respond with that date?
RESPONSE: There is no plan to extend the due date.
QUESTION: Since the planting work is desired to be during hunting season, will the areas of the range be closed to hunting during that timeframe (assuming that the timeline for award, etc is maintained).
RESPONSE: Contractors that work on the ranges typically work around recreational users, including hunters. Ranges will not be closed unless requested through the Government Point of Contact.
