Attachment 1, Paragraph 3.21 – PFAS TESTING & TREATMENT - GROUND WATER (Section 01 57 19 - Page
32) changed from:
Excavation below the active stream grade to install pile caps is limited to a single annual instream period between August 1st and Sept 30th or as approved by the Contracting Officer to minimize the potential ground water interception period and the linked groundwater treatment period. Pile installation is seen as a separate operation and extracted ground water saturated soil requires treatment.
Provide PFAS treatment of ground water intercepted during excavation, trenching and isolation of the work area to non-detectable levels* combined for PFOS and PFOA. Additionally provide treatment of PFBS to non-detectable levels*. Non detectable levels currently defined as at or under PFOS = 4 ppt, PFOA = 6 ppt and PFBS = 601 ppt (ppt = parts per trillion = ng/L).
Begin any ground water capture and treatment immediately assuming PFOS and PFOA values are at 3000 ppt and PFBS values are at 1000 ppt. Treat water prior to discharge to Clover Creek. Sample at least once weekly at the influent and effluent and provide rapid (2 to 3 day) PFAS Test Results.
