Q&A for

Request for Prequalification Information

(W912DS18R0001)

11 June 2018

The following Government responses to questions from interested vendors are provided for informational purposes only.

Q4. In reference to the above Request for Prequalification Information we submit the following question regarding the Intumescent Fireproofing.

Based upon paragraph 3.1.1.1 c see below….. The requirement for “Scope is defined as work applying intumescent mastic coatings (fireproofing). Magnitude is defined as a total of over $1M in a single project/contract.” We believe that this is extremely restrictive to major contractors in the area and request that in lieu of the firms dollar value experience, you qualify the subcontractor by personnel experience and completed projects along with manufacturer approval and project references.

General Contractors will be submitting a bridge painting subcontractor, along with a third tier subcontractor who will perform intumescent fireproofing. This alone will increase job cost with multiple contractor mark ups.

We respectfully request the 1M single project be deleted and revised to include manufactures approval and experienced staff members. We would also agree with submitting attachment 3 for completed projects as well.

A4. The requirements stated in Section 00 22 11 paragraph 3.1.1.1.c have been amendment. See Amendment – 2 to Request for Prequalification Information.

Q5. In reference to the bid submission, we would like to clarify whether the submission needs to be submitted in four separate binders for each volume or if the entire submission can be submitted in one binder with tabs identifying each factor.

A5. Each Volume should be separate. The response should include an original set and six sets of copies, with each set containing the four separate volumes (Volumes 1, 2, 3, and 4).

Q6. Can you please provide me with any security clearance, if any that the person dropping off the Prequalifications may need on Friday for this project?

A6. 26 Federal Plaza is a public building. The person(s) dropping off the package would just have to enter through the public entrance and pass through weapons check screening, which is a similar process to airport security check. Respondents should allow for sufficient time to get through building security.
