Questions and Answers:

(Questions that may be of general interest to all Offerors and/or the Government and that are not readily answered by the proceeding changes will appear below. These questions may have been paraphrased or altered to represent several questions regarding the same subject and/or simply revised to clarify and simplify the question(s). Questions and answers are issued to the Offerors “for information only ”and do not revise the solicitation, plans or specifications.)

RFI #1: Question:

In spec section 06 13 33 page three paragraph 2.1.1.2 of the Fire Island Stabilizaton Contract 3A it states that timber piles are green hart. Would this be correct and not a typo? Would treated yellow pine suffice of as a sufficient replacement?

Answer #1:

This is not correct. Treated southern yellow pine would suffice and revised in this amendment.

RFI # 2 Question:

a. Addendum #6, 14. Insurance procured by Contractor, a. (1) states: (1) Commercial General Liability Insurance in limits of not less than Five Million Dollars ($5,000,000) combined single limit per occurrence for bodily injury, death, personal injury and property damage, including but not limited to coverage for Broad Form Property Damage. Such coverage shall not contain any environmental exclusion clause and there shall be no exclusions for property damage arising out of explosion, collapse or underground property damage hazards and no exclusion for waterfront activities.

Please confirm that all required limits may be met with a combination of underlying and excess limits.

b. Addendum #6, 14. Insurance procured by Contractor, a. (1) indicates that the Commercial General Liability policy “shall not contain any environmental exclusion clause . . . “ We do have a pollution exclusion in our Commercial General Liability policy as is the industry standard. However, we have a separate Contractors Legal Liability policy and a separate Vessel Pollution policy. (We also have limited sudden and accidental Pollution coverage included in our P&I policy.) Please confirm that this is acceptable.

c. Addendum #6, 14. Insurance procured by Contractor, a. (1) also indicates that our Commercial General Liability cannot contain an exclusion for waterfront activities.

Our CGL excludes waterfront activities in connection with dredging because our

Protection & Indemnity and Marine General Liability policies provide the coverage.

Please confirm that this is acceptable.

Answer #2:

The answer to a, b and c is yes, this is acceptable. RFI #2, is answered in this amendment.
