PLC- FUNCTIONS:

A. Provide new application point BACKWASH EQUALIZATION BASIN related to the sodium hypochlorite pumps. Presently there are 5 application points in which permissible pumps can be selected to pump to. Pumps shall not be allowed to be associated with more than one application point at a time.

Receive from HMI application point BACKWASH EQUALIZATION BASIN pump selections for permissible pumps 3, 4, 5, or 6 (pump 5 is the normal selection).

B. When a pump is assigned to BACKWASH EQUALIZATION BASIN, that pump shall start whenever a filter in is backwash and the filter is hydraulically backwashing is in progress and valve FV-M29-15-1 is OPEN. The speed of the pump shall be operator entered since the backwash flow is relatively constant. If a pump is selected (3, 4, 5, or 6) and valve FV-M29-15-1 is not OPEN, generate HYPO VALVE TO BACKWASH EQUALIZATION BASIN NOT OPEN signal to HMI (this is a status, not alarm). If Pump 0 is selected, no status shall be displayed at HMI.

HMI FUNCTIONS:

A. On existing sodium hypochlorite pumps screen, provide sodium hypochlorite valves OPEN and CLOSE command button. The buttons shall only be visible if the associated REMOTE mode status is true.

Display REMOTE/NOT IN REMOTE status.

B. On existing sodium hypochlorite pumps screen, provide sodium hypochlorite valves OPENED, CLOSED, and REMOTE status. Valve animation shall be red when valve is OPENED, green when valve is CLOSED, and blue when in transition.

C. Display and alarm SODIUM HYPOCHLORITE VALVE FV-M29-15-1 TO BACKWASH EQ BASIN TO FAIL OPEN and SODIUM

HYPOCHLORITE VALVE FV-M29-15-2 TO BOOST B FAIL TO

OPEN conditions.

D. Display and alarm SODIUM HYPOCHLORITE VALVE FV-M29-15-1 TO BACKWASH EQ BASIN FAIL TO CLOSE and SODIUM

HYPOCHLORITE VALVE FV-M29-15-2 TO BOOST B FAIL TO

CLOSE conditions.

E. Provide new BACKWASH EQUALIZATION BASIN application box and the ability to select Sodium Hypochlorite Pumps 3, 4, 5, 6, or 0.

Display HYPO VALVE TO BACKWASH EQUALIZATION BASIN NOT OPEN status.”
