Air Dryers:
a. Dessiccant Air Dryers: In duplex parallel arrangement, each sized for maximum system demand, with inlet and outlet pressure gauges and thermometers, controls, capable of delivering air at capacity indicated, at 35 degrees F at 100 psig dew point, and automatically ejecting condensate from air stream, using no more than 15 percent air purge.
b. In duplex parallel arrangement, each sized for maximum system demand, with inlet and outlet pressure gauges and thermometers, controls, capable of delivering air at capacity indicated, at 35 degrees F at 100 psig dew point, and automatically rejecting condensate from air stream, using no more than 15 percent air purge.
Filter Assemblies:
a. Description: Provide filter assemblies suitable for breathing air, in parallel duplex arrangement. Size each assembly for maximum system demand of capacities indicated, but not less than capacity in scfm and operating pressure of breathing air system. Provide assemblies that automatically eject condensate from air stream. Assemblies shall have factory-or field-installed inlet and outlet pressure gauges, and shutoff valves.
b. Size filter assemblies for 5 psig maximum air pressure drop when filters are new and clean, at breathing air system rated capacity in scfm and 100 psig pressure.
c. Differential Pressure Switch: Adjustable, diaphragm type, with electrical connections for alarm system, to indicate when air pressure drop through filter assembly rises to more than 2 psig greater than when new and clean.
d. Provide factory- or field-installed automatic drain traps for each coalescent filter.
Air Purification Systems
a. General: Provide air purification systems, in duplex parallel arrangement, each sized for maximum system demand, consisting of coalescing, particulate, and activated-charcoal filters, air dryer, catalytic converter, gauges and thermometers, and controls. Systems shall be capable of removing excessive moisture, solid particulates, oil and oil mist, carbon monoxide, and hydrocarbon vapors; providing Grade D breathing air complying with CGA G-7.1; and having capacity and dew point indicated, but not higher than 35 degrees F at 100 psig. Provide each system with duplex parallel filters, each sized for maximum system demand, and with valved bypass for filter servicing. Provide factory- or field-installed inlet and outlet pressure gauges, thermometers, safety valves, and shutoff valves; system shall be capable of automatically ejecting condensate from air stream.
b. Differential Pressure Switch: Adjustable, diaphragm type, with electrical connections for alarm system to indicate when air pressure drop through filters rises to more than 2 psig greater than when new and clean.
After filters to include a Grade Y 1.0 micron solids removal filter and a Grade Z activated carbon filter.
The purifier shall be designed for 100% continuous duty.
The package shall meet OSHA Grade D maximum allowable contaminant levels for compressed air breathing:
O2 19.5 to 23.5 Percent
