About this file

This document is a spray treatment overview and area specification guide for the Chatfield Project, detailing vegetation control and noxious weed management across six designated work zones totaling approximately 435.1 acres.

The project encompasses six work areas: (1) 0001AA—Dam Embankment (254.9 acres) requiring total vegetation control on all rock, roads, and stockpiles, with noxious weed treatment in grass areas; (2) 0001AB—Outlet Works Channel (21.8 acres) with total vegetation control on rock and roads, noxious weed treatment in grass areas and channel banks, including Russian olive and tamarisk treatment if found, while leaving willow intact; (3) 0001AC—Massey Draw Channel Outlet (3 acres) requiring total vegetation control on all rock and noxious weed treatment in grass areas to the top shoulder of the channel bank; (4) 0001AD—Spillway (99.5 acres) with total vegetation control on all rock, roads, and stockpiles, and noxious weed treatment in all grass areas; (5) 0001AE—Administration/Maintenance Area (34.5 acres) requiring total vegetation control in parking areas, roadway cracks, gravel roads, maintenance compound, and stockpiles, with noxious weed treatment in grass areas and spray extending approximately 50 feet from the fenceline around the maintenance compound; and (6) 0001AF—Spring Gulch Pond (1.8 acres) and 0001AG—Spring Gulch Dam (19.6 acres) both requiring total vegetation control on rock and noxious weed treatment in grass and bare areas. The Spring Gulch Dam area includes a special restriction prohibiting ATVs and vehicles on the embankment side due to soft, erodible soils, limiting application methods to backpack or hose application from the top or bottom of the embankment, with specific cattail treatment requirements up to 40 feet upstream of the intake.
