About this file
This document is a spray overview map and work specification for the Cherry Creek Project vegetation control contract. The total workload encompasses approximately 252.7 acres divided into two primary work areas: the Dam Embankment (0002AA) covering 176.7 acres and the Spillway (0002AB) covering 76 acres. The Dam Embankment work requires total vegetation control of stockpiles, all rock/rip-rap, and service roads, along with noxious weed treatment in all grass areas. Specific application requirements include spraying a 30-foot buffer from the toe of rip-rap, a 15-foot buffer from the edge of service roads, and all areas within the base of spoil berm slopes and top of slope shoulders.
The Spillway work area requires treatment of noxious weeds and all woody vegetation with stump re-growth and woody species treatment, excluding willows which may be left standing. Two critical special notes apply to the Dam Embankment: a 3-week notice is required prior to closing Dam Road, and the recreation trail on the upstream side of the dam must not be sprayed. The work area includes defined boundaries marked by I-225, road gates and fences, chain-link fencing, wire fencing at the toe of the dam embankment, and proximity to Chatfield State Park Campground, Parker Road, Hampden Avenue, and Chambers Road.
