About this file
This solicitation is for the refurbishment of eighteen foot diameter spiral case inlet butterfly valves and associated systems for two generator units at Fort Peck Dam located near Glasgow, Montana. The scope of work includes refurbishing the bronze disc seals and stainless steel mounting hardware on the butterfly valve discs for units 4 and 5 to improve internal bypass leakage and address component end of life issues. Additional work includes addressing coating deterioration through sand blasting and recoating, performing non-destructive testing on the discs after blasting and before recoating, and replacing the butterfly valve shaft and thrust bearings. The contractor will also be required to provide paint repairs on the exterior of the penstocks and weld repairs on the valve discs if the optional bid items are awarded. The refurbished penstock butterfly valve systems are expected to be functional with limited maintenance required for fifty years. The solicitation was issued by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Omaha District on February 27, 2023. Small businesses must perform at least 15% of the contract cost, not including materials, using their own employees to comply with limitations on subcontracting. Bidder inquiries are open until the solicitation closing date.
