About this file

This document provides details of a federal solicitation opportunity for high resistance grounding equipment at Fort Peck Dam in Montana. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Engineering District Omaha is seeking to replace the existing low impedance reactor and breaker with a modern high resistance grounding system and cable voltage suppressors for all five generating units at Fort Peck Dam. The high resistance grounding equipment will help limit unit fault currents and reduce damage to cables and generators from single line-to-ground faults, which are common at hydroelectric facilities. Interested vendors can access the full solicitation documents through the Federal Business Opportunities website using solicitation number W9128F20Q0025. Offerors must ensure their System for Award Management registrations are up-to-date. The delivery location for the purchased high resistance grounding equipment is the Fort Peck Dam Powerhouse in Montana.

Question and Answer

Question: Our medium voltage cable has an 8 numeric digit stock# for each size, cable type and reel length size. For example we would have for 2awg 5kv 954636XX where XX will change per the reel length. Lets say that for 250ft its “05” so the final will be 95463605. Will it comply with the DoD UIID?

Answer: This approach to meeting DFARS 252.211-7003, Item Identification and Valuation is acceptable.
