USACE, Omaha District, Ft Peck HRG Contractor Questions Project: Ft Peck High Resistance Ground Supply
Solicitation: W9128F20Q0025
Disclaimer: Official government requirements are outlined in the final solicitation specifications.
Question: Question: Is shake table method required or is the calculation method allowed for meeting seismic qualifications. Is a Ip=1.5 required when performing calculations?
Answer: Seismic qualifications of equipment supplied may be performed using either method (shake table or calculations). When performing calculations, an Ip = 1.5 is required as listed in the specifications.
Question: In reference to Section 26 11 15.00 26, 2.10 Surge Protection, it is not mentioned with the HRG assembly and it is our intention to have it supplied as a separate unit in its own enclosure.
However, to my knowledge, the outline drawing does not show this anywhere and I want to make sure this has been accounted for and is acceptable. There is also the issue of connecting the two of them, so please take into consideration that USACE is the contractor and these units will be shipped separately and not cabled together.
The estimated enclosure footprints will be around 6'w x 3'd for the high resistance assembly and 4'w x 2'd for the surge protector assembly.
Answer: Surge protection is not shown in the outline drawing as it is located in a different part of the facility. The Project has existing cabinets and it is at the Bidder's discretion to provide new surge protection cabinets.
