About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for a federal contract opportunity issued by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District, for the Cottage Grove (CTG) Sewage Plant Sewer Pump and Controller requirement (W9127N26QA077) in Lane County, Oregon. The document addresses industry inquiries regarding equipment specifications and installation requirements current as of May 15, 2026.
The requirement is limited to equipment delivery only, with no removal of existing pumps or installation services required. Key technical specifications include a sewer vault approximately 12 feet deep with 250 feet of horizontal pumping distance, discharge through a 2-inch hose to a single farm-style irrigation sprinkler, and a 6-bolt flange type fitting for 4-inch pipe. The government has no preference regarding bearing materials or shaft diameter, provided functionality remains equivalent and overall dimensions stay similar. For coating, the government prefers typical municipal coatings appropriate for wastewater applications, specifically Tnemec21 (Epoxy) or 3M Scotchkote (Fusion Bonded Epoxy). Additional technical details including existing pump tag information, discharge configuration drawings, and total pump length specifications are available in attachments referenced in the associated SAM posting.

Cottage Grove (CTG) Sewage Plant - Sewer Pump and Controller
Lane County, OR.
U.S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS, PORTLAND DISTRICT
Below is a list of questions received from industry and the governments response to those questions regarding the Cottage Grove (CTG) Sewage Plant – Sewer Pump and Controller requirement, W9127N26QA077. For clarity, the government response has been highlighted in red text.
These questions and answers are current as of 15 May 2026.
Is this requirement solely for the delivery of equipment, or is the removal of existing pumps / installation of new equipment also required?
This requirement is just for the delivery of the equipment itself, no removal or installation will be required.
What is the tag info for the existing pump?
A photo of the existing tag has been uploaded in the attachment section of this SAM post.
What is the Total Dynamic Head (TDH) for the application?
Currently there are no existing records for the TDH of the existing system. However, the sewer vault is about 12 feet deep and the total distance we are pumping is approximately 250 feet horizontally. The pumps lift the sewage effluent the 12 feet then discharge into a 2” hose out to a large irrigation style sprinkler.
Do you have information on the existing discharge configuration?
Please refer to the attachment “Existing System Part Drawings”. As shown in the drawings, we are transferring effluent to a 2” hose (like a firehose) then to a single large farm style irrigation sprinkler.
Can the Contractor quote a larger diameter shaft since ¾” is not standard?
The government does not have a preference as long as functionality is the same and other dimensions remain similar
Is there a material preference for the bearings?
No preference.
Are there any specific requirements for the discharge head?
“Needs to be a ?? 6 bolt flange type fitting for 4” pipe.”
Can you confirm the total pump length?
Please see the attachment “existing system part drawings” of the effluent chamber.
Are there any requirements for the type of coating required?
The government prefers a typical Municipal Coating (appropriate for wastewater) such as:
Tnemec21 (Epoxy)
3M Scotchkote (Fusion Bonded Epoxy)
