Recovery Y535 Reset was found at the intersection of Chinook Park Road and Highway 101 approximately 0.8 miles southeast of the Chinook Marina. The monument is stainless steel drive rod with a punch mark in a monument case (lid damaged). The rod is not centered with an offset to the SW side of the case. It did not appear bent.

Figure 1: Y535 RESET

Betty M is located on Jetty A, south of the USCG Station Cape Disappointment. The point is in a secure area and is accessible with an USCG escort only. The point was searched for using RTK stakeout with the base station at Y535 Reset and not found. USCG personnel informed survey crew the jetty was completely rebuilt in 2016, so its likely the point is lost.

Crane Positioning Pile top location was measured with RTK GPS. An antenna was installed on a gimbled antenna mount at the boom tip centered over the load block. The GPS system used was a Trimble SPS461 with a GA830 antenna. The crane GPS received RTK corrections from the base station at “CHINOOK BASE” broadcast by UHF radio. The SPS461 output real-time position that was recorded and displayed in Hypack Dredgepack navigation software. An additional Hemisphere vector GPS was installed on the barge “LASH” to provide position and heading of the barge and orientation to the work area.

Pile test locations provided in the plans were loaded into the map display. At each location, the current pile test location was selected. The boom tip location was shown graphically relative to the selected location and an alpha numerical display showed the range and bearing. Pile was set as near as possible to the design location for the first test and at the prescribed offsets for subsequent tests.

Pile location at the start of driving and end of driving were intended to be recorded by the operator for each test. While real-time positioning was functioning for pile placement, positions were not logged on certain tests and are shown as shaded cells on the provided test result tables.

Positions recorded in Hypack only contain northing, easting, time, and date information. Time and date were correlated with the Project Engineers pile logs to determine the associated test.

Results Test results are provided in the attached tables.
