About this file
This is a Government Response to Industry Questions document from the Department of the Army's Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC) Fort Sill, issued May 28, 2026, addressing clarifications for solicitation W9124L26QA011 regarding 75th Door Installation.
The document provides responses to five technical questions submitted by industry regarding door installation specifications. Key clarifications include: (1) glass cut profiles must align with the door's original construction, remain within existing panel areas, match door thickness, and fit securely within stiles and rails while complementing the architectural style; (2) casement wall thickness should measure 3" to 3 1/4", with a disclaimer that these are rough estimates requiring contractor field verification; (3) rough opening measurements for casements should allow ½" to ¾" clearance for both width and height dimensions, with 3" depth for wall thickness; and (4) door swing clearance at the bottom should be ¼" or less to accommodate weatherstripping and thresholds, with interior doors requiring no visible gaps. All technical specifications are marked with disclaimers emphasizing that provided measurements are rough estimates and the contractor bears responsibility for field verification of actual conditions before commencing work.

SUBJECT: Government Response to Industry Questions Pt. 2 - W9124L26QA011 75th Door Installation
1. Is Glass Cut Profile; How should the glass cut/profile match the existing door configuration?
Response: The glass cut/profile should align with the door’s original construction by staying within the existing panel area, matching the door’s thickness, and fitting the depth of the stiles and rails so the frame seats securely. It must visually complement the door’s architectural style and be strong enough to support the weight of the selected glass. Following the manufacturer’s exact cut template ensures the insert clamps properly, maintains structural integrity, and preserves a clean, intentional appearance.
2. Casement Size/Wall Thickness?
3. Response: 3” to 3 1/4 Thickness. ? **Disclaimer: These are rough estimates. It is on the contractor to field verify**
4. Rough Opening measurements of casement?
Response: Width: Rough opening width + ½" to ¾" Height: Rough opening window frame height + ½" to ¾" Depth (wall thickness): 3” **Disclaimer: These are rough estimates. It is on the contractor to field verify**
5. Clearance of door swing (clearance of bottom of door to floor)?
Response: ¼" or less, because weatherstripping and thresholds seal the bottom.
Interior door should not have a visible gap. **Disclaimer: These are rough estimates.
It is on the contractor to field verify**
