About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers record from the Sandbridge Beach Renourishment Industry Day held on 29 January 2026 from 0930 to 1130 hours. The file captures contractor inquiries and corresponding government responses regarding the upcoming beach renourishment project.

Kyle Howe from Manson Construction inquired about pipeline corridor requirements, noting that such corridors were not used in past projects and requesting consideration of eliminating them. The Norfolk District responded that it is ensuring pipeline corridors are not a permit requirement, leaving flexibility for contractor approaches. Hannah Madison from Weeks Marine requested that the government increase borrow area capacity if volumes are close to pay area capacity to ensure adequate material availability. The Norfolk District acknowledged this feedback and stated it is reviewing borrow area volumes to ensure sufficient material for beach construction. These responses indicate the government is actively considering contractor input on project design parameters and material availability prior to formal solicitation.
