Q&A W911YN-18-Q-5003
Q1: In the bid, it states the system must be integrated to the existing Johnson Controls system. Is the existing system BACnet or N2 communication protocol?
A1: The Johnson Controls System is a Metasys FEC2621 BACnet device.
Q2. Should the new electrical be run inside the exterior soffit?
A2. This is optional; the Contractor can run the electrical along the inside of the exterior soffit or above the ceiling interior of building. The electrical must not be visible.
Q3. Should the new refrigeration lines be run inside the exterior soffit?
A3. This is optional; the Contractor can run the refrigeration lines along the inside of the exterior soffit or above the ceiling interior of building. The refrigerant lines must not be visible.
Q4. For the demolition of the existing exterior unit - please confirm this is demolition and removal with capping of lines only. Not including removal of slab or replacement of vegetation surrounding unit.
A4. Yes, drain old unit, demo it and cap off lines right above the ground. No, the Contractor does not have to demo concrete slab or remove any vegetation surrounding the old unit.
Q5. For new slab to support new exterior unit - please confirm this is to be designed and installed per unit requirements for weight on existing grassy area to the exterior of the building.
A5. The design of new slab must be requirement for load of new unit per manufacturer recommendation for the new unit.
Q6. For the new interior unit, please confirm there is not a specific unit design for size or dimensions, the only requirement is the new unit meets the specifications published and fits in the existing interior motor room.
A6. This is the AHU (interior unit), no specific unit design. New unit must fit on existing unit pad and fit inside Mechanical room, meeting all requirements per manufacturer recommendations.
