SECTION C. PROJECT DATA (DESCRIPTION OF WORK)
A portion of the existing Sulphur Run stone arch culvert, located along Spring Street, experienced a failure. The failure eventually caused a portion of the stone arch to cave-in and has since caused the undercutting of Spring Street.
To temporary stabilize the site several steel plates will be placed over the failed culvert. These plates will provide stability over the failed portion and allow for further analysis/ investigation of other culvert sections. Temporary rock fill material will be placed and compacted at the toe of the failing embankment to function as a temporary stabilization berm. The existing tarps will be removed and replaced with a well secured geotextile cover. A temporary access road will be constructed along with specified erosion and sediment control measures.
