SECTION SF 30 BLOCK 14 CONTINUATION PAGE

SUMMARY OF CHANGES

(End of Summary of Changes)

The following items are applicable to this modification:

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Q1: The SOW calls for: 2500 Sq. Ft of 2 different but complimentary VCT 2500 Sq. Ft carpet tile, 7000 Sq. Ft Clean / New Concrete Stain work, Approximately 5260 Sq. Ft Epoxy Flooring (Based on my reading the map/ rooms) TOTAL FLOORING 17,260. So on flooring-- I have an approximate grand total of 17,260 sq. feet that will have work done to it, be it new VCT, carpet, stain, epoxy, etc. This total does not match with the total of new Acoustic Ceiling tile (46,000). If the building footprint is 46,000-- does that mean that there are considerable parts of flooring that will have no work done to it? (In this case-- 17,260 square feet has flooring work, an approximate 28,740 sq. ft. of flooring has no work done to it.) Is that correct?

A1: 1.4 The Contractor shall visit the work site to verify the site condition during the site visit.

Q2: 46,000 sq. feet new acoustic ceiling tile. No new ceiling insulation is required, correct?

A2: No new insulation, the tile will be replaced one for one.

Q3: Will the project require us getting a city permit and inspections, or is this on government property?

A3: Government Property

Q4: As far as window sealing-- we are to reseal as per the SOW. I'm reading that we are to re-use existing windows. Correct?

A4: The SOW did not state to remove windows. Windows are to remain in place.

Q5: SOW states it is unknown if asbestos materials are present, and that contractor is responsible for testing and corresponding proper procedure. Any updates or new information on this? Is there an asbestos report available?

A5: Report will be provided. It was only conducted for one room. For all other areas being effected under this contract, contractor will have to conduct his own testing.

Q6: 3.5 WINDOW SEALS: 3.5.1 Provide preformed sealant of polybutylene or isoprene-butylene based pressure sensitive weather resistant tape or bead sealant capable of sealing out moisture, air and dust when installed as recommended by the manufacturer. At temperatures from minus 30 to plus 160 degrees F, the sealant shall be non-bleeding and no loss of adhesion. Verify that each of the sealants are compatible for use with joint substrates.

Preformed sealant bead is normally used in a concealed sealant joint, which is normally put into compression within the joinery. I believe this is a misstatement. Please clarify.

A6: If the joint is not concealed then the contractor can use a bead sealant capable of sealing out moisture, air and dust when installed as recommended by the manufacturer.

Q7: 3.5 WINDOW SEALS: 3.5.1 Guarantee sealant joint against failure of sealant and against water penetration through each sealed joint for five years. One-year guarantee is specified under Section 5-Warranty. Please clarify.

A7: One year guarantee is for overall items in contract. For 3.5.1 is calling for more than a year for warranty. Where the SOW specifically calls for a more stringent product or warranty, the more stringent item will prevail.

Q8: EXTERIOR DOORS 4.1.13 Exterior Doors: 4.1.13.1 Demo all exterior doors. Does this also include door frames, to the extent that only the rough opening remains?

A8: No only the doors. Door frames should be stripped of the old paint and then painted.

Q9: 4.2 INSTALLATION: Contractor will provide 10% attic stock of all materials used, i.e. paint, carpet, ceiling tile, cove base, replacing exterior doors, refinishing interior doors, replacing all door hardware, re-sealing exterior windows and updating latrines. We are mainly concerned with exterior building systems, and ask for clarification regarding the 10% attic stock: Do we need to provide 10% exterior doors for attic stock? Regarding ‘re-sealing exterior windows’, does this mean 10% of the sealant material volume used should be delivered as attic stock? Sealant has a shelf life.

A9: Minus the Sealant material

Q10: 4.2.5 Paint Exterior Doors Frames: Paint metal door frames with 2 coats of premium quality semi-gloss enamel paint. All interior door frames will be painted with same paint and quality as the exterior door frames. This indicates that exterior door frames to remain. Please confirm that all exterior steel door frames to remain. 4.6 DOORS: Exterior Doors: 4.6.1 Provide doors complete with frames, framing members, sub frames, transoms, adjoining sidelights, adjoining window wall, trim, and accessories, as required for a complete installation. 4.6.1.11 Prep, repair and paint all exterior door frames.

A10: All door frames are to remain and be re-painted

Q11: 4.9 WINDOW SEALS: …. Exterior sealants are as follows. 4.9.1. Apply the sealant in accordance with the manufacturer's printed instructions with a gun having a nozzle that fits the joint width. Force sealant into joints to fill the joints solidly without air pockets.

Some of the joints at window frame-to-masonry are very tight and close, one to the other, and as such, there is no discernable joint opening (< 1/16in width). Caulk gun nozzle cannot fit into such a small joint width. Please clarify that surface applied sealant bead will be acceptable for such conditions.

A11: For this situation and only this situation surface applied sealant bead will be acceptable.

Q12: Make sealant uniformly smooth and free of wrinkles. Completed sealant joints will have some ‘wrinkles’, and definition of a ‘wrinkle’ is based upon how close and meticulous inspection and QC guidelines are. Please confirm that final surface of sealant beads will be smooth and straight and level in plane, per industry standards and as normally applied in commercial applications.

A12: Final surface of sealant beads will be smooth and straight and level in plane.

Q13: 4.9.2 Remove tape and any residual adhesive just prior to sealant application. Tape is left in-place and removed immediately after sealant application. Please confirm this is acceptable.

A13: Acceptable

Q14: 4.9.8 Joint Width-To-Depth Ratios: Acceptable Ratios: Minimum Maximum For metal, glass, or other nonporous surfaces: 1/4 inch (minimum) 1/4 inch 1/4 inch over 1/4 inch 1/2 of Equal to width. For wood, concrete, masonry, or stone: 1/4 inch (minimum) 1/4 inch 1/4 inch Over 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch 1/4 inch Equal to width Over 1/2 inch to 2 inch 1/2 inch 5/8 inch Over 2 inch. (As recommended by sealant manufacturer).

Please clarify the above ratios, being aware that sealant installer cannot change or adapt the existing joint width between window frames and masonry, etc. It is believed that intention of this specification clause is to require sealant bead to be of industry standard depth-to-width ratio of 1:2. Please confirm this is what is intended.

A14: Industry standard depth-to-width ratio of 1:2 is acceptable.

Q15: 5. WARRANTY: 5.1 All work specified in this contract shall have a warranty of a minimum period of one full calendar year for parts and labor from the customer’s acceptance date. One-year guarantee is specified under Section 5-Warranty. Please clarify.

A15: All work for parts and labor shall have one-year guarantee except where specified for more than one year.

Q16: For the walls to be painted next to the cubicles, can we pull the cubical little in front & paint the wall just 12" below the top of the cubical? It will take a lot of time & efforts to dismantle & re-arrange them completely. Plus the wall behind the cubical will be hidden all the time.

A16: The entire wall should be painted.

Q17: Can you please provide the specs for paint?

A17: Semi-gloss enamel.

Q18: According to the RFP there will be not texture work. Please confirm.

A18: If any new walls are going up there will be texture. All other items being painted should already be textured.

A20: If damaged during construction contractor will be responsible. A walk at the beginning of the construction shall be conducted by field personnel and contractor at this time any existing damage shall be documented.
