TECHNICAL EXHIBIT 1

SITE SAMPLING INFORMATION

1. Sampling Information. Many of the wells are equipped with dedicated tubing that may be used with a peristaltic pump. None of the wells are equipped with dedicated pumps.

1.1.2 Landfill 5 (CLF5): Due to the fact that the north end of CLF5 is located in the downrange safety fan for one of the live fire areas, the Contractor shall schedule sampling at CLF5 with Fort McCoy Range Control (608-388-4848) well in advance of the field work. After scheduling the work, the Contractor is also required to check in with Range Control by phone prior to entering CLF5 to ensure the no live fire is occurring near the site. Range Control has the key to the gate that allows vehicle access to downgradient wells on the west side of West Thirteenth Avenue. Except during very muddy conditions or when deep snow is present, all wells are accessible with a 4-wheel drive vehicle.

1.1.2.1 CLF5 Sampling Points: MW-1, MW-2A, MW-2B, MW-2C, MW-3, MW-5, MW- 7A, MW-7B, MW-8A, MW-8B, and MW-9, and one (1) matrix spike (MS) and one (1) matrix spike duplicate (MSD) with each round. In addition, one equipment blank will be analyzed for perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctanesulfonate (PFOS) for a total of Fourteen (14) samples per round. The MS/MSD will not be analyzed for PFOA or PFOS.

1.1.2.2 Depth to Groundwater: Less than 20 feet.

1.1.2.3 Analytical Program: The wells are typically sampled in April and October for VOCs, Method 8260: alkalinity (unfiltered), Method 310.2; chloride, fluoride, and sulfate (all unfiltered), Method 300.0; COD (unfiltered), Method 410.4; phosphorous (unfiltered), Method 365.4; TDS (unfiltered), Method SM 2540C; and filtered concentrations of nitrate+nitrite nitrogen (Method 353.2); and concentrations of iron, lead, manganese (all filtered), Method 6020. In addition, PFOA and PFOS (Method 537 Modified) will be analyzed for when included on the Task Order. GEMS reporting is required for all parameters.
