JBLM Cold Storage Trailers: Contractor Questions

Question: Reference: Answer:

What is the Period of Performance

1 November 2024 to 28 February 2025

Is there an incumbent There is no Current Contract in place

Will a 20’ Trailer be sufficient if a 16’ is unavailable.

Yes, as long as other specifications are met.

The solicitation mentions a standard 110V/20A power connection. However, we have noticed that many cold storage containers of this size typically require at least 208V.

Could you please confirm if a

208V power source is an available possibility at the base, should it be required for our equipment?

There are cold storage trailers that can be operated from standard 110V/20A power connections. We’re looking for this type of setup due to the accessibility of standard exterior outlets at the location where the trailers are going to be utilized.

Regarding the setup of the power connection, will Joint Base Lewis-McChord provide the electricians necessary to facilitate this, or is it the responsibility of the delivering company to arrange and handle the electrical setup.

The facility where the trailers are going to be utilized does not currently have the electrical capacity to support 208V power supplies. The facilities breaker panels would have to be analyzed to identify whether the panels have significant capacity for additional power, as well as open slots to install the 3-phase breakers. JBLM-DPW electricians are the only personnel authorized to perform any electrical work to support this requirement.

Where is the SF 1442, we are instructed to sign on W911S8- 25-Q-0001 (Instruction 7a)

Instruction 7a has been modified in Amendment 02, and is now asking for signature/completion of W911S8-25-Q-0001, What will be the next steps in no small business respond to this solicitation

The Contracting office reserves the right to resolicit for additional time before making any further determinations.

the specifications for a 110/20A refrigerated unit is

Market Research indicates there are vendors that are not feasible because that is for a regular refrigerator. What I have seen for this type of storage unit is 460 three phase power. Is this a Typo in the solicitation available to provide cold storage trailer that operate via a standard 110V/20A power connection, We’re looking for this type of setup due to the accessibility of standard exterior outlets at the location where the trailers are going to be utilized. Due to the limited amount of space available near the location the trailers are to support, we’re not looking for commercial sized/powered trailers. An additional reason a 110/20A option has been decided on is that the trailers are going to be mobilized in the vicinity of unaccompanied housing (barracks) and noise might become an issue with larger powered refrigerated trailers.
