INDUSTRY QUESTIONS RECEIVED

Question 1a: In reviewing the bid request, we see that the hours of service are 7am-4pm, how strict is this time window? The internal grease traps may disrupt customers at the locations during this time window. It would be ideal to service the traps after regular business hours.

Question 1b: I was reading the statement of work today and it is asking that service be provided from

7:00 am - 4:00 pm. Those hours are no problem for our used cooking oil removal service but we don't offer the same service time for grease trap cleaning. Due to the odor that cleaning the grease interceptor sometimes causes our grease trap cleaning techs work from 4:30 pm - 3:00 am. Can this time period be adjusted?

Government Answer 1: For grease interceptors that are outside and can be accessed 24/7, the contractor may clean these during after duty hours if they choose to, but they need to keep in mind that all Government employees will be off and unavailable until the next duty day, should an urgent or emergency occur. For those that are indoors, they're going to have to clean them during normal duty hours, otherwise they're not going to be able to access them.

Question 2: Are there UCO bins already on site or will we be providing those for each location requesting UCO pickup?

Government Answer 2: Assuming that by "UCO" they mean "Used Cooling Oil?" Yes, the contractor shall be responsible for providing both: the containers to collect used cooking oil AND the secondary containment. If there is a secondary containment unit already there they can use it, until it can't be used anymore and must be replaced. However if a new building is added that requires UCO pick up they will need to provide the UCO container AND the secondary containment. This is clearly stated in the PWS, Section 4.

Question 3: On the Performance Requirements Summary it states that the containers shall not exceed

3/4 full during a service period. The grease traps are designed to fill back up within 24 hours of our complete evacuation of the trap.

Government Answer 3: This sentence in the Performance Requirements Summary needs to be removed.
