WASHER AND DRYER SERVICES

QUESTIONS FROM INDUSTRY

As of: 17JAN18

Question 31. Please provide a list of participants at the site visit.

Answer: Uploaded to FBO.gov 16JAN18

Question 32. Please provide the size of the gas line at the wall where the installed gas dryers will be attached. 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 inch etc.

Answer: See answer to question 25 of questions posted as of 16 Jan18. Bidders should also note that there may be some varying sizes due to repairs and/or renovations that has not been captured by the government in their mechanical drawings of the facilities. It will be the awarded contractor’s responsibility to ensure that they have the proper size and type prior to phase-in operations. The government will not be responsible for discrepancies in the information provided.

Question 33. Will there be a location on base where the incoming contractor can have the new washers and dryers delivered.

Answer: No.

Question 34. I have been involve in leasing washers and dryers to government lessees for 20 years and your list of the number of repairs for the last year of the contract is very low compared to similar contracts I have managed. Please provide complete list of all repairs over the 4 year contract.

Answer: Attachment 9 will be amended to show all service orders reported to the contractor under their current contract.

Question 35. During the site visit the present contractor stated that most of the repairs he made during the contract were do (due) to doors being ripped of(off) the units is this true and is this not vandalism.

You have stated in other answers to questions that there was very little vandalism during present contract.

Answer: Statements made during the site visit do not constitute the official government response. It is unknown if that statement was or was not made by the site visit attendee of the incumbent contractor.

See response to Question 16 posted on 5JAN18 concerning vandalism.

Question 36. Please provide the number of dryer cords that are three prong and the number that are four prong cords

Answer: The specific quantity for each type is unknown and cannot be provided with any accuracy to the bidders. Buildings built prior to 2000 typically have 3-prong cords. Buildings built or renovated in 2000 or later typically have 4-prong cords. Based upon this, the government estimates there are 485 120 Volt 3-prong cords, 94 240 Volt 3-prong cords, and 85 240 Volt 4-prong cords. It will be the awarded contractor's responsibility to verify exact quantities prior to phase-in operations and supply the appropriate cord at time of installation. The government will not be responsible for discrepancies in the information provided.

Question 37. What is the number of washers, single gas dryers, single electric dryers and stack dryers both electric and gas?

Answer: See Attachment 5 for quantities and type.

Question 38. When the new contractor is required to remove washers and dryers and put in storage for later installation and lease will the government pay for the storage cost and will the contractor continue to receive monthly lease payments for the removed units?

Answer: The government will require the removal or additions if the building is to be demolished, if a new facility is added, or if the facility is to undergo complete renovation. The government does not anticipate any of these conditions within the next contract period. In such cases where it does, the Government also anticipates that a bilateral modification to the contract will be completed.

Question 39. Will the government provide a storage location on base where extra washers and dryers can be stored?

Answer: No.

Question 40. How many washers, single electric dryers, single gas dryers, electric stack dryers and stack gas dryers are presently being leased by the present contractor to the government.

Answer: See answer for Question 29 of Questions from Industry posted to FBO 16JAN18.
