Questions from Industry/ Answers to Questions #1
W911RX-18-B-0001 Washers and Dryers
Question 1. I would like to ask if you are planning on conducting a site Visit. This is very important particularly when you consider the cost of vent cleaning depends on the location of the vent systems, the distance from the back of each dryer to the outside exhaust outlet. The cost of dryer vent cleaning will drive the monthly lease cost of each dryer installed at Fort Riley higher depending on these factors. A site visit to allow prospective contractors to check the vent systems personally is very important.
Answer: See Section L, paragraph 3.1 for site visit date and time.
Question 2. The requirement for single washers-- Do you require front load washers only or will you consider top load washers? Front load washers are twice as expensive to purchase than top load washers and front load washers require twice the repair calls as do Top Load washers. It is my experience that top load washers are much more durable and more cost effective than front load washers in a military environment.
