Questions from Industry 10 Apr 2017
Q. 1. Regarding the removal and replacement of the existing trolley duct (buss), and trolleys: Please provide the voltage, phasing, and current rating for the existing trolley duct/trolleys in each hangar.
Answer: See attached electrical diagrams.
Q. 2. Regarding Hangar 817: The relocation of the disconnect down to the base of the access ladder will require the repeated use of the existing utility access ladder. Currently the ladder is devoid of a safety climb rail or cable. Should we include, in our proposal, the cost for acquiring and installing a code compliant safety rail or cable?
Answer: No, The ladder already has a cage.
Q. 3. Regarding Hangar 817: The innermost of the two trolley ducts is located squarely above some of the hangar doors. This is a design departure from the location of the trolley ducts in the other two similarly designed hangars, and appears to be a contributing cause of hangar door failure. Simply put, the trolleys that transfer power to four of the eight hangar doors appear to be making contact with the tops and faces of the hangar doors.
The innermost trolley ducts in the other similar hangars are located inboard of the hangar door interior faces, and are supported by steel extension brackets attached to the upper door track superstructure. The relocation of the inner trolley duct has successfully precluded contact between the trolleys and the hangar doors. We suggest that the inner trolley duct in Hangar 817 be similarly relocated to preclude physical contact between the trolley housings and hangar doors.
Answer: No, Repair as stated in PWS.

Q. 1. Could you please publish the sign in sheet from the walk through?
Answer: Done
Q. 2. Are the original door drawings from each building (817, 853, 837, 833) available? If so, could you please make them available?
Answer: Yes see attached.
Q. 3. 5.2. A.15 references replacement of all hangar door trolley trucks. Is this referencing the “top roller assemblies”? If so, how many per door sections are currently used? Original drawings will show this.
Answer: All trolley trucks on all hanger doors.
Q. 4. Or is this referring to the buss duct?
Answer: No
Q. 5. 5.2. A.16 references inspection and repair of safety brakes and service safety bayonet rods. Please verify, is this in reference to the brake on the motor?
Answer: Yes
Q. 6. 5.2. A.18 – Repair weather valance at the top of all hangar door panels. From the walk through it seemed that only building 817 had damaged “valance”. Is this the understanding of the government?
Answer: All Hanger Doors at 817, 833, 837 and 853.
Q. 7. Scope 1.4: Replace all weather seal. Does this include all top, bottom and side seal?
Answer: All Hanger Doors at 817, 833, 837 and 853.
