Questions and Answers in Response to Combined Synopsis/Solicitation W911QY-23-R-IDCL S2PRINT Integrated Data Collection Lab

Question 1:

Could we get a rough schematic/floorplan of the location of the rooms involved?

Answer 1:

See floorplans attached.

Question 2:

Is there only one control room for the Large UX Lab and HSI lab, or does each lab have its own control room?

Answer 2:

There is a single control room for the large and small UX labs. The HSI lab does not have a control room but can leverage the UX one if needed and space available.

Question 3:

How many eye trackers are needed, and do you want screen based, glasses, or both?

Answer 3:

Glasses are preferred – or at least something that’s portable.

We want minimum 6, but up to 12 would be useful, if they work together and multiple can be used at the same time.

Question 4:

What data is needed from the eye trackers?

Answer 4:

Number of saccades, number of fixations, and fixation duration; with tools such as fixation filters, Areas of Interest (AOIs), and event logging.

Question 5:

Do the observation rooms have one way glass/mirrors in them?

Answer 5:

Yes, One-way glass.

Question 6:

For the camera mounted to the monitor, would a tripod next to the monitor or a camera mounted to the wall behind the monitor suffice (will the monitor be located close to a wall?)

Answer 6:

A tripod is acceptable if it is able to be placed out of the way, captures the data at the angles required for the software analysis tools (e.g., facial expression analysis) and is secure enough that it won’t be easily knocked. I don’t think a wall will be available to mount to – systems will likely be against the mirror or the middle of the room.
