The following items are applicable to this modification:
AMENDMENT NOTES
1. The purpose of this amendment is to provide a drawing of the paintbooth layout, provide a picture of the paintbooth’s pit area, and to answer questions.
a. To provide a drawing of the paintbooth layout and a picture of the paithbooth’s pit area.
b. The following questions were submitted and the answers are as follows:
Question 1. Due to the limited time to evaluate the Q & A’s and adjust our proposal, we are formally asking for a (1-2) week bid extension?
Answer 1. This solicitation cannot be extended due to the expiring funds associated with this requirement.
Question 2. Please provide any existing drawings or a general layout drawings of the building were the new system will be installed.
Answer 2. Approximately 40”w x 30’L x 6’d. Picture & layout attached Question 3. Are we responsible for the disconnection of all utilities prior to the demolition?
Answer 3. Contractor is responsible for disconnecting all utilities prior to demolition.
Question 4. “Item 3.1.1. All materials containing hazardous materials shall be decontaminated prior to disposal or disposed of as hazardous waste.” As this is an unknown how would you like us quote, we can include an allowance and use it as a declining balance if anything is encountered.
Answer 4. Last time we demolished paint booths at ANAD, the contractor took the paint booth panels apart and disposed of in government furnished roll off boxes.
Question 5. Is there is a requirement for painting under the job? IE; is a pit required in the Booth?
Answer 5. Yes, there a requirement for painting under the job.
Question 6. Will the new oven require fire protection (alarm or sprinkler), the existing oven has fire sprinkler in I, but no alarm.
Answer 6. No suppression or alarm required inside the oven Question 7. Regarding CLIN Items 6-16, are we required to present pricing for these items?
Answer 7. Yes for CLIN 6 CONTRACTOR MANPOWER REPORTING. No for CLINs 7-16 Contract Data Requirement List (CDRL), these are deliverables that the contractor must provide with the systems and are not separately priced (NSP).
Question 8. Item 9.1 Extended Maintenance, there is no CLIN for this item.
Answer 8. Capture the proposed cost of Extended Maintenance in the proposal.
Question 9. During the demolition phase are we required to install a protective barrier, like plastic or hoarding wall.
Answer 9. No protective barrier is required during demolition.
Question 10. Please confirm project completion Item # 6.2 mentions 5 months and page #16 says 180 days.
Answer 10. Project completion is 180 days.
Question 11. What is the largest part envelope that is being painted?
Answer 11. Approximately 40’ x 12. In accordance with the dimension in the Statement of Work Question 12. Please confirm downdraft requirements discussion from site walkthrough that we are to provide approx. 60FPM and not 100FPM? SOW states (2) MAU’s at 33K CFM which give the booth an overall downdraft of approx. 60FPM not 100FPM.
Answer 12. The confirmed downdraft requirements is approximately 60FPM Question 13. Are we required to paint any new piping like fire/gas lines or are labels acceptable?
Answer 13. Follow standard codes. Ex, gas line is yellow.
Question 14. Do you have a list of companies that made a site Visit to date? We would like a copy if possible 2.
Answer 14. H. M. White, LLC, AHR Metals, & Epcon Industrial Systems attended the site visit.
Question 15. Do you know the name or make of the Conveyor Chain system presently Installed and in used PAR 3.1.5?
Answer 15. The name and make of the current conveyor chain system is unknown.
Question 16. PAR 3.1.4, Can we remove and re-install the fire sprinklers already in use in the existing booths?
Answer 16. No, this requirement is for a new sprinkler system.
Question 17. Par 3.1.2, Do you have a drawing or photos of the existing pit, Length, width and depth.
Answer 17. Approximately 40”w x 30’L x 6’d. Picture & layout attached

Question 18. Par 3.1.2, you are asking for 4ea, 30" exhaust fans, one in each corner of the booth, WILL THIS REQUIRE A NEW PIT CONNECTED TO THE MAIN PIT IN CENTER OF PAINT BOOTH, 4 new SIDE PITS?
Answer 18. Modification to the existing pit will be required in order to ventilate the pit.
Question 19. Based on the distance we have to travel from the West Coast and advance travel arrangements, In order to Visit Site will you consider a 10 day extension of the closing date?
Answer 19. No additional site visit will be granted in accordance with PROVISIONS #2: SITE INSPECTION ARRANGEMENTS. This solicitation cannot be extended due the expiring funds associated with this requirement.
Question 20. On page one of form 1449, will block 24 include CLIN 1 through 16?
Answer 20. Block 24 on SF 1449 must contain the total dollar amount of your proposal.
Question 21. Is this project taxable and if so, will it be Federal, State and Local?
Answer 21. In accordance with FAR Part 29 Taxes, The U.S. Government is exempt from taxes, Federal, State and Local.
Question 22. What is the coefficient of friction for the 75t tank? Another way to answer that would be to tell us how much force it takes to pull the unit along, on its tracks.
Answer 22. The coefficient of friction for the 75t tank is unknown.
Question 23. Is the current drive set up with a VFD in the panel? If so, what size is the VFD?
Answer 23. Whether the current drive is set up with a VFD in the panel is unknown.
Question 24. Confirm the total load on the system will be (1) 75t tank. This is how the spec is written, but we want to be sure.
Answer 24. Confirmation, the conveyor system must be capable of pulling a 75 ton tracked vehicle.
