Stryker MTS FINAL RFP Industry Q & A
20 October 2017
# Industry Question Government Response
1. Does the Government desire a fully functional vehicle intercom system?
a. If not, to what fidelity should the intercom system function?
2. Will the intercom system also communicate with the
IOS?
a. If so, will the IOS require an intercom headset?
1. A fully functional vehicle intercom is not required. The fidelity requirements for the vehicles are provided in paragraph 3.3.1 of the Stryker Phase V SRD and apply to all TTLs.
SRD Paragraph 3.3.1.1 - Upon completion of a TTL, the student shall be able to perform a complete checkout of the MGS starting with an empty system, load training ammunition, and ending with a simulated firing and cartridge removal.
21. REMOVE AMMUNITION FROM
REPLENISHER
24. RESTOCK REPLENSIHER WITH
105MM AMMUNITION
SRD Paragraph 3.3.1.2 -
n. Upon completion of a TTL, the student shall be able to perform any of the following tasks.
1. LOAD TOW LAUNCHER
12. UNLOAD TOW LAUNCHER
Each of these tasks require communications between the loader and the commander/gunner.
2. There is no requirement for an intercom between the HOTs and the IOS.
Paragraph 3.1, System-Wide Design, includes this statement:
The C7 Power Pack Assembly PTT and MCV HOT will not be instrumented and does not connect to any IOS or the TMS. The following is a functional block diagram of the current Stryker MTS components and MTS interfaces
Paragraph 3.10.4 includes this statement:
One IOS shall communicate to all five HOT workstations per MGS, ATGM, and MC variant
These two statements appear to be in conflict.
Questions:
1. What is the Government's intent with regards to an IOS and/or SWS for the MC HOT and the C7 Power Pack?
2. Should there be one IOS for each group of trainers to allow the instructor to record lesson progress?
3. Should there be an SWS in the vicinity of each device to allow the student to record lesson progress?
Stryker Phase V SRD version 2.0 , Paragraph 3.10.4 states " One IOS shall communicate to all five HOT workstations per MGS, ATGM, and MC variant"
However the latest version of the Stryker Phase V SRD, version 2.2, , Paragraph
3.10.4 states "One IOS shall communicate to all 5 MGS HOT workstations and one IOS shall communicate to all 5 ATGM workstation"
The Stryker Phase V SRD Version 2.2 is posted on FedBizOpss.
