1-4 1-6.c.(3) CHANGE paragraph to read: "If during PSA, it is determined that the serial number of the PTU, Hydraulic Motor or Hydraulic Pump is not appended with an inspection/procedure/configuration code, but a code is required during the M&O process, the code shall only be displayed on the IUID data plate as HRI in the MII field (e.g. MII: A). If multiple inspection/procedure/configuration codes are required, the codes shall be added to the MII field (not the serial number) as HRI, with each code separated by a dash (e.g. MII: A-XX-XX-X). Historical records shall be updated to document the change. When using DA Form 2410 electronic-system, the applicable code(s) shall be entered in the "MII" field; using the paper system the code(s) shall be entered in the "REMARKS" field (e.g., "MII: A" or "MII: A-X-XX-XX-X" for multiple codes)."

a. If 2-D data matrices are present, use a handheld data matrix reader (see Table 2-1) to scan the 2-D data matrices. If the scan is successful, proceed to paragraph 1-6.1.d and/or 1-6.1.e. If the scan is not successful after two attempts, proceed to paragraph 1-6.1.b.

b. Clean the 2-D data matrices with a cloth (Item 2, Appendix C) moistened with isopropyl alcohol (Item 16, Appendix C) and scan again. If the third scan is successful, proceed to paragraph 3-6.1.d.(1) and/or 3-6.1.e.(1). If the third scan is not successful, use the HRI to query the DoD IUID Registry (see paragraph d.(2)) and/or TAMMS-A/UID database (see paragraph 3-6.1.e.(2)).

c. If neither OPM IUID Label(s) nor IUID data plate(s) are present (only an original nameplate), query the DoD IUID Registry IAW paragraph 3-6.1.d.(2) and/or TAMMS-A/UID database paragraph 3-6.1.e.(2) below.

d. Query the DoD IUID Registry (see Appendix A, Websites) as follows:

(1) DoD IUID Registry home page, select “Queries”, then “Single Item Query.”

Scan or place the recorded UII data into the “UII*” field. If the query returns a record, proceed to paragraph 3-6.1.f. If the query does not return a record proceed to 3-6.1.d.(2) below.

(2) Using the human readable manufacturer serial number on the component (indicated by Serial No., Ser No., S/N, SN, SER, (S), SEQ, etc.), query the DoD IUID Registry. Select “Queries,” then “Pedigree Query.” Place the human readable manufacturer serial number in the “Serial Number” field. The query may return multiple records. Use the additional data from the component (component description, part number, etc.) to determine if one of the registry records can be matched to the component. If a registry record’s data matches the component data exactly, proceed to paragraph 3-6.1.f. If no registry record can be matched exactly to the component data, proceed to paragraph 3-6.1.d.(3) below.

(3) Using the human readable manufacturer serial number on the component (indicated by Serial No., Ser No., S/N, SN, SER, (S), SEQ, etc.), query the DoD IUID Registry. Select “Queries,” then “Mark Query.” Place “SERIAL NUMBER” in the “Mark Content” field and place the human readable manufacturer serial number (as visible on component, minus any spaces) in the “Mark Value” field.

The query may return multiple records. Use the additional data from the component (component description, part number, etc.) to determine if one of the registry records can be matched to the component. If a registry record’s data matches the component data exactly, proceed to paragraph 3-6.1.f. If no registry record can be matched exactly to the component data, (i.e., did not have a registered UII), an IUID data plate(s) shall be fabricated IAW paragraph 1-6.d.

e. Query the TAMMS-A/UID database (see Appendix A, Websites) as follows:

(1) TAMMS-A home page, select ”Apps”, then “UID” from the drop down menu.

Scan or place the recorded UII data into the “UII” field. If the query returns a record, proceed to paragraph 3-6.1.f. If the query does not return a record proceed to 3-6.1.e.(2) below.

(2) Using the human readable manufacturer serial number on the component (indicated by Serial No., Ser No., S/N, SN, SER, (S), SEQ, etc.) query the TAMMS-A/UID database by placing the serial number in the “SER” field. The query may return multiple records. Use the additional data from the component (component description, part number, etc.) to determine if one of the database records can be matched to the component. If a database record matches the component data exactly, proceed to paragraph 3-6.1.f. If no database record can be matched exactly to the component data, (i.e., did not have a registered UII), an IUID data plate(s) shall be fabricated IAW paragraph 1-6.d.

f. Record Data.

(1) Ensure the data in the DoD IUID Registry and/or TAMMS-A/UID database record matches the component data (resident on the PTU, Hydraulic Motor, Hydraulic Pump or within its accompanying historical records). If all data matches, record all pertinent component data (UII Data Elements, Boeing PN, Manufacturer PN (if applicable), and all other data on the component and/or in the registry record), as needed for IUID data plate replacement. If applicable, remove the OPM IUID Label(s). (Note: The label(s) may be retained with the component as reference only). It is necessary that all recorded data be matched to the same end item, assembly, or component on which they were found during PSA. Refer to paragraph 1-6.d for IUID data plate fabrication.

(2) If the data in the DoD IUID Registry and/or TAMMS-A/UID database record does not match the component data, refer to paragraph 1-6.d for IUID data plate fabrication. If applicable, remove the OPM IUID Label(s). (Note: The label(s) may be retained with the component as reference only)."
