1. The SOW lists all the buildings requiring additional access control equipment. Is separate line item pricing for each building required?
No.
2. The SOW refers to attached drawings. I did not receive them, can copies be sent directly to me?
Drawings were published in FBO.
3. I understand the proposal is to include all labor to install the equipment/devices as listed, however there is no mention of cable and cable distances to the controller (micro) location in relation to door. How are we to estimate the cable installation portion?
Drawings were published in FBO.
4. Based on the most recent combined solicitation & synopsis doc provided, are there five separate prices/proposal requested (Base, Option Year 1, Option Year 2, Option Year 3 and Option Year 4)? Do these correspond to any of the buildings listed on the SOW?
Quote the base year separately. For option years 1-4, quote your labor rates for each year for the maintenance and repair piece. Provide a price list for each part that could either fall into the maintenance and repair part of the contract and a price list for each part/materials that would be needed for each option as listed in the contract.
5. While the SOW outlines locking hardware, the combined solicitation & synopsis doc does not mention door hardware and/or locking devices. Will this be handled as a separate component to this contract for that portion?
Any door hardware that is an actual component of the door itself and separate from any electronic access control hardware (door hinges, panic bars, door knobs, door actuators, etc...) is covered on a separate contract and will not be included on this contract.
6. Has the site been updated to Lenel OnGuard application software?
No, we currently utilize Facility Commander.
7. What version Lenel Software is currently installed?
Facility Commander Wnx, Edition 7.7 Professional Client
8. If a software update is required, should we include that in our proposal? If so would this be a separate proposal?
Yes, that would be included in the maintenance and repair portion of the contract.
9. Are we to include additional reader license with each proposal?
You're the expert, you tell us.
10. How will the new Micros connect to the existing system? Will network connectivity provided at each controller?
You, the contractor, will be required to run new data lines to and from each component of the system as required. The NEC, Gov't entity, will provide data and port configuration support to ensure the data lines are configured correctly.
11. Will the repairs on existing doors and related devices be handled on a T&M basis based on negotiated rates?
I would say yes, Time & Material (Labor rates + cost of materials).
12. Can the proposal be sent directly to you via email using PDF proposal documents?
Yes.
13. Drawings show an additional reader in building 200A (office A-1507) that is not in the Card Reader SOW document. Are we to include this reader?
Leave it out of the base year estimate. We will include it as an option in option years 1-4.
14. Existing Micro Locations – This is required to determine cable distances and related labor:
a. Building 200A - Card Reader SOW instructs to run new reader cable to existing Micro Controller in computer room. Is this Computer room #A- 1106?
No it's the greyed out area with the #2 in it on the 2nd page of the drawings.
b. Building 200B – What is the location of existing Micro Controller to run the two new reader cables to?
The two new 200B readers will be routed into the micro controller located in B200C, COMM. RM (WC-20), Pg 2 of drawings.
c. Building 200C – Where are the new key override switches to connect to location of existing controllers
The two magnetic lock override switches will need installed in conjunction with the two magnetic locks that are pointed out by #3 in B200C on page 2 of the drawings. The micro for these readers is located in the COMMS Closet, WC38, RM 1G221-U.
15. What is the ceiling height and type of buildings requiring new readers?
Ceilings range from 10'-50' in height, buildings differ throughout.
16. Is conduit required for reader cables?
In the case where you can run wire through the ceiling and walls, no conduit is needed. In other cases where this can't be done and I reader is installed in an office or occupied area, all wire will be ran through conduit.
17. What type of enclosures (model numbers) are in place for the existing controllers that required PXNPlus upgrades?
Casi Rusco Model # Micro/5E; newer ones with PXN plus upgrades are a mix of GE Micro PX-2000 and a Lenel version in some cases.
18. Will a software upgrade be required for Lenel Facility Commander?
If we continue to run Lenel Facility Commander with no issues, we won't need to upgrade it. If it fails and an upgrade is required to get it working, it would fall under maintenance and the price of the upgraded software would be wrapped up in the materials portion of T&M and would fall under maintenance and repairs.
19. Is the existing system (Facility Commander) under a current software support plan?
Yes.
